Margo doesn't have to go to work tomorrow, so she's letting the idea of a 3 day weekend soak into her bones and that feels very good. It has been a very different work week for her. M is working with an intern 2 days/wk and her caseload of children has increased substantially. M is looking forward to spending tomorrow preparing for her food co-op board meeting on Saturday and having coffee with a friend.

The last outdoor Farmers Market of the year is Saturday; M can't attend it because of her meeting.

M takes a breather from handing out hersheyskiss to the throngs of kids who ventured out in tonight's 40 degree rainy Northern MN weather... that candy must be really something, eh? M noted earlier on the weather that the Tampa Temp was above 80 degrees today, and hopes it will be warm like that on his "Holiday" birthday there a week from now.

The big news is Sam lost her mind and bought a pool table at an estate sale.

Wendy hasn't posted in quite a bit. Wendy is weary. Her school year is in full swing, and the commute is kicking her butt.

But on a fun note, Wendy has followed Sam and lost her mind, a bit. About a year ago, W. noticed a radio/record player console at a resale shop. Her parents used to have one, so it gave her quite a feeling of nostalgia. She's been thinking of getting one since, and has even looked online. Fixed up/working = a few hundred bucks, broken = cheap/free. W. knows she would never get one fixed, but wouldn't want to pay too much (if anything) for a working one.....other things take priority these days.

But....W. went to the twice a year local church rummage sale. It was $3.00 bag day (stuff as much as you want into the bag for $3). While waiting in line to enter....her youngest noticed a piece of furniture in the outdoor tent. W. got out of line and saw that it was a radio/record player console. Ticket said 'offer a price' but W. inquired if it was working. The man working the tent said we could see....if W. had an extension cord in her car. And guess what....W.'s oldest had called earlier that morning and asked her to bring an extension cord to the craft fair she was at (W's oldest is using her artistic talents to create things to sell at craft fairs to help make $ for college).....so W. actually had an extension cord in her car that mornig! W. had youngest daughter go get it and upon plugging things in............discovered that the console worked!! clap At least the radio did and the turn table turned. There's also an 8-track player.

W. was quite excited. Things got even better when the worker/gent told her she could 'offer' him $2 for the console! Woot! Woot!

W. is now a proud owner of a radio console that fits beautifully in the little nook in her dining room and the sound from the radio speakers is FANTASTIC!!

W. is currently researching make/model to figure out the correct record player needle to get. Very much like trying to find a needle in a haystack. W. wants to try the record she found and put into her $3 bag from the rummage sale.
