Sending prayers to your Uncle Mike and to you and your family Tracy to find peace in your grief. You will see him again. I didn't have to meet your Uncle to know he was a special man - he served out country.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers......Please thank him and his family for his Service for our Country, and may his sacrifice never be forgotten. He and the soldiers who have gone before him are forever in our hearts.
Sorry Tracy --May the Heavens open up for Michael-- escorted by the Angels of Heaven in union with the Love of Mother Mary-Saints of Heaven-with love of family and friends in Heaven and on earth-meeting Our Lord simply
Thank you all for your offers of prayers and support. The funeral was low-key, just like Mike would have wanted. My son was a pall bearer, along with several other nephews (Mike had 19 nieces and nephews).
The Honor Guard was very respectful and added dignity and pride at the cemetery, with their salutes and playing of Taps (which always brings a tear to my eye). Btw, Mike was a Korean War veteran, not WWII.
No kidding, funeral masses are incredibly healing. Not to mention Last Rites.
Hail Mary Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
