It's certainly possible to be attracted to someone based on his or her profile. It depends on lots of things, including the profile-writer's adroitness with words, and also obviously the reader's history and imagination. I tune out when a profile reads like advertising copy, or when it's dashed off de rigueur in a bored and haphazard manner. On the other hand, my interest is piqued by creativity. Creativity is hugely attractive in my humble opinion, and a profile is as good a way as any to put it on display.

You get a Gold Star! You get a Gold Star! You get a Gold Star! You get a Gold Star!

Kerry. Thank you for saying this!

Creativity is a HUGE draw for many guys. How can I say this full of grace?: scratchchin

A friend was relating during a dinner party an article from the New Oxford Review or Wanderer about the two qualities most under attack today, virginity and maternity. The irresistible drop dead gorgeous "Marian dimension" in each woman.

Chastity and Creativity go hand in hand. Creative courtship is a master key to chastity. Sorry, to use a football analogy...but it is football season:

If a couple "plans their play and plays their plan", they have a prolific offense along with a strong defense. A strong offense keeps their defense from being on the field all the time and getting worn out! Most couples find themselves reactive, not creative. Back-peddling, back-sliding, and losing ground.
Watching TV, etc. They are all defense (which wins championships), but little offense (you still to score positive points).

For me, Creativity extends from the Trinity and redounds to each of us, including the four temperaments.

Are you a beloved daughter, mother, spouse princess to the Creator God? Does your life manifest a daily creative relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? So many vivid, colorful, exciting details manifest the originality of feminity the closer one is drawn to our Creator. This relationship cannot but shine in a lady's pro-file as pro-life. This is why all of the saints are so beautifully unique!

Creativity does not have to be limited to the creative intellectual, literary or artistic fields. A lady can be Pro-creative, Re-creative, or love being in Creation. Creating a new business. Sustaining a pro-life ministry. Celebrating life and spiritual fruitfulness. Each temperament - Sanguine, Melancholy, Phlegmatic, and Choleric - has their own feminine genius and genesis of maternal fruitfulness.

Please ladies (who have suffered Purgatory reading me this far...). biggrin Please spare the serious men on CM their own Purgatory and try to be imaginative -- vivid, concrete, real, specific, colorful, perceptive, etc. -- in your profiles and when writing the gentlemen who capture your interest.

Generic, vague, self-referential, abstract, foggy, and impressionistic (On and on...) language and profiles are dead give aways that someone is self-absorbed, spread out too thin, playing the field, and not quite ready to be single-heartedly, wholeheartedly engaged in a seriously joyful Pro-creative relationship.

Our Lady of Guadelupe, pray for us! Praying rose rosary

You make some good points, David, in asking women to demonstrate their creativity in their profiles. I have tried in my profile to put a little more "razzle-dazzle" in my profile by adding more pictures, trying to demonstrate with words and pictures a bit more of who I am and how I think.

The problem is that most of us are fairly prosaic. Even though I am inspired with lots of profound thoughts, I am not necessarily a poet. I think it is also important to SEE creatively - to see beyond the surface to the soul with within. I hope that the man for me will stop to take a second look beyond my prosaic exterior to discern the depth of my being in the few bumbling expressions I've attempted to share.

It's the first door to be opened. Can't possibly say everything about yourself on a site. Just Put the basics out there to see if anything clicks.

(quote) David-174079 said: Hi again, Kristen,

This seems like a good context to recycle the famous JPII quote:

There is no dignity when the human dimension is eliminated from the person. In short, the problem with pornography is not that it shows too much of the person, but that it shows far too little.
― John Paul II

Is this what you are intuiting? That a person's human dimension can be diminished by the Internet medium? One's humanity is not eliminated, but I do feel objectification and isolation of parts (face, words) from the whole person can distort reality. On the other hand, I think CM, unlike a bar scene, can serve to magnify the beauty of the mind, heart and soul. Giving truly intelligent, morally good, and inwardly beautiful a safe place to shine!

This is true about CM if one limits one's use of CM to just browsing profiles. Then it amounts to window shopping, at best, and pornography, at worst. But if in one goes beyond the profiles to the whole picture of CM, into the deep prayer community, the rosary calls, and especially the events, it is a completely different experience, rich in faith, fellowship, and yes, LOVE.

The line between the sacred and the profane is often thin.

Go for it, Laura! All the events/ meet ups that you see on CM are member planned and hosted. Meeting CMmers is very rewarding! But we have to do the work and not wait for someone else to do it for us.

David, she was all of this! I am happy you named the creative model for womanhood in your one line prayer at the end of your post!

Thank you for the beautiful definition of woman in creation...Thank you for asking the questions!

Yes, we women here are indeed daughters of a King...and your reminder is heartening.
