smile I do not have pet peeves when it comes to online dating, but one thing I do not like are photos with dark glasses over the eyes.

So they figure if all they do is say hi and the woman writes back, then they are wrong and the woman really is interested. But if they (the men) write a whole bunch of stuff at the beginning, the woman may write back for awhile because she is somewhat interested in the attention, but then fall off the map when a better guy comes along.
Thank you, Michael, for helping us gain a little more insight into men's behavior. Would you consider starting a Help Column for the ladies?

I don't like long introductory messages, especially the ones that seemingly address everything in my profile in one go. It's too much like reading a cover letter attached to a resume. Since you are not applying for a job, why not write a sweet little sentence or two and see how that goes? It's much easier, more enjoyable, and more natural to respond to that than the cover letters.

My pet peeves , hmmm dudes that initiate conversations but then disappear, and dudes that have been members for a while but still have the same old picture posted. we all change a bit here and there a new picture wouldnt hurt. IMHO. I'll also add dudes who dont reply to an emotigram but will check out your profile repeatedly. thats it for now!!

See -- -the other poster likes long messages. Everyone's different. A short hello is fine. If she responds, then try something a little longer.
