Jennifer and I (Dan) are absolutely delighted to announce our
engagement to the online community of Catholic Match. It has been
nothing short of a whirlwind romance!

Within a month of
chatting, we decided that we should meet, which took place in mid-April
of this past year. Plans for Jennifer’s trip to Ireland (fortunately
for me) fell through, allowing me to invite her to visit Hamilton,
Ontario, a city she had been to on a few occasions. My idea to break
the ice for our first encounter was to go see the movie ‘Fever Pitch’,
a romantic comedy that incidentally featured my favourite sports team,
the Boston Red Sox.

Later that evening, we visited the view atop
the Niagara escarpment and it became rather apparent that we shared
some excellent chemistry. Soon we came to the realization that our
meeting was no accident, but perhaps by design (fate?), as we had so
many things in common that we could not simply chalk it up to
coincidence. In fact, even our parish priests have nearly identical
surnames, but more ironic than that, they spent a year together at a
Kitchener seminary decades ago in southern Ontario.

Since our
initial meeting, the two of us have seen each other every month,
switching visits between Ontario and Pennsylvania. We spent a glorious
Thanksgiving week together, which was highlighted by our engagement. We
are very much looking forward to enjoying the Christmas season together
and beyond.

I have been so blessed and fortunate in meeting
the most wonderful woman I could ever imagine, who makes me feel like
the luckiest man alive. The beauty, grace, and virtue that Jennifer
possesses make her an amazingly special and cherished gift to all those
in her life. We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives
together in unity with Christ, as we take life’s journey one day at a
time. May all of you be blessed and discover the luck of the Irish in
your search for true Christian love.
