Over three years, I (Megan) was very frusturated with dating. It seemed like
all the guys that were interested in me didn't have the same values and faith, making it very hard to find someone whom I would want to pursue a
relationship with. At the time, I had pretty much given up trying to find that
special someone, after encountering many heartbreaks and frustrations with
dating.

I used Catholic Match a year before that for a short time. How I
discovered CM was literally a freak accident. I truley believe God
had a hand in helping me discover the website. I was searching a certain author
that started with the letter "C" (in a search engine) and
"Catholic Match" appeared in the predictive searches. So I decided to
check the website out and set up a profile.  I met one person through
Catholic Match, and enjoyed meeting someone who shared the same faith as me,
but we were both at different places in our lives, and nothing ever
came of our relationship. So after that, I quit using Catholic Match, mainly
because I was busy with school and other things in my life.

My father suggested me going back on
Catholic Match to try to find someone. So I willingly took his advice, though I
thought I would be wasting my time. That is when Matthew found me. I saw his
profile, and saw that he had some of the same interests as I did, and he seemed
like an very interesting person I would like to meet. What intially attracted
Matthew to my profile was that I was interested in photography, which is one of
his hobbies as well. His parents also suggested him to try Catholic Match to
find someone. They heard about CM through the Catholic Telegraph.

We began exchanging emails in March of 2006. We continued exchanging emails for
about three months. Then we began calling each other on the phone. On June 18,
2006 we finally met each other for the first time. There was somewhat of a
driving distance between us. We lived about an hour and a half from each other.
So when we first met each other, we met somewhere that was a half-way point for
the both of us. Matthew was very nervous about meeting me, because it was the
first time that he met someone from the internet. When we met, we went out to
eat and then went to the movies. And the first movie we saw together was The Breakup. Both of us had a
great time.

After that, we continued keeping in contact with each other. We
would meet each other at the same place each week at our halfway point. As time
went by our relationship grew into love. We talked about marriage early on in
the relationship and both knew we could spend the rest of our lives with each
other.

Just shortly after dating for two years, on June
22, 2008, Matthew proposed to me. We got carry out for dinner, and when we got
home I was setting out the food on plates, Matthew went off to his room. I
wondered what he was doing and went up to tell him dinner was ready. When I
went to his room he was fiddling with his camera. He said, "Oh, I'm just
seeing something on my camera." Little did I know he was taking a picture
of the engagement ring and putting it on his
computer! After dinner, Matt asked if I wanted to look at rings on the internet
to see if there were any rings I liked. I had a feeling that maybe he was going
to propose, but when we started looking at rings, I thought if we are looking
at rings, then obviously he doesn't have a ring. So we spend about fifteen
minutes looking at rings. Matthew says, "I have this ring saved on my
computer, I had this picture on here for a while now, tell me what you think
about it." So he shows me the picture and he says "What do you think?
I know the picture doesn't really do the ring justice. Do you like
it?".  And I said, "Yes," and he says, "I hope
so". He gets down on one knee and says, "Megan will you marry
me?"  I was so exicited and of course I was crying because I was so
happy.

Eight months later we got married, on February 21, 2009. I moved to his home, which is about
an hour from my family. But I'm glad to start our new lives together as husband
and wife.  Catholic Match gave us the opportunity to find someone who
shared the same Catholic faith and values. With our Catholic faith and love for
God, helped us grow in love.

Congratulations! I almost gave up on dating too, but came to realize that "there is a time and season for everything under heaven". I know that there is a reason for why things happen and there will be a right time. Just put it up to the Lord.
