As a year-end gift for this special online community, we’ve prepared “The CatholicMatch 12 Days Of Christmas.”
It began with a simple request to nominate CatholicMatch members who have wisdom or wit to share and, hence, deserve a little spotlight.
We were blown away by how many nominations poured in! What a blessing that you think so highly of each other.
Twelve winners emerged, and we will feature one each day of the Christmas season (beginning today), asking the same set of questions. We hope you’ll be informed and inspired, entertained and edified.
We begin with Lisa-2533.
What were the greatest blessings of 2010?
One of my greatest blessings this year was to be able to meet some friends I discovered on CatholicMatch. This was the first chance I have had to meet fellow CatholicMatchers. These are friends I know I will have for life.
How has your approach to finding a mate evolved?
When I was younger I mainly focused on my wants and needs and forgot to include God in the process. As I have grown, I’ve realized that by relying on God and continually working on my relationship with Him, He will help me to realize my needs and not just my wants.
I’ve learned that things happen in God’s time and not mine and that He knows what is best for me. Remaining close to God and trusting in Him has helped me not be so anxious about finding a mate.
What’s your CatholicMatch strategy?
My main strategy is to participate actively in the forums. Posting gives me a chance to show other CatholicMatchers who I am, much more than can be communicated in my profile. I’ve made tons of friends and a lifetime of connections through the forums.
I also try to browse profiles weekly and respond to any correspondence I receive.
Why do you stay on CatholicMatch?
I stay on CatholicMatch because for me it is important to find a mate who shares my faith. I also have developed strong friendships with other single Catholics throughout the world. It’s great to have that fellowship. Also, I try to keep all of my options open.
I’ve seen so many success stories on CatholicMatch. I know it works.
What’s your favorite Christmas tradition?
Every year my family gets together on Christmas Day. I have two little nephews and watching them open their presents and seeing the joy on their faces is priceless.
What’s your hope for 2011?
My hope for 2011 is that my family and friends have continued good health and abundant blessings from God. And as long as we’re hoping, I hope that I find someone who I can one day live out the sacrament of marriage with. A girl can dream, right?
Make a prediction for 2011.
I predict that in 2011 I will star in a romantic comedy based on my life entitled “When Lisa Met _____.” If anyone would like to share the billing, let me know!
