Beginning in February, you’ll be seeing the first phase of our new user home page. While there will be some aesthetic changes, we’re primarily focusing on significant upgrades to communication, matching and a new feature called “Connections.”
We feel these changes will dramatically improve the experience on CatholicMatch, leading to more users getting connected and, ultimately, matched. Here’s a quick preview of three exciting new additions you can expect this year.
We’re working hard to make it easier than ever to keep track of all your communication – the emails, the instant messages, the emotigrams.
Soon we’ll be organizing this by member, so all your communications with one person will be collected together. You’ll basically have an inbox for just the person you’re communicating with.
It’ll also provide you with a process of prompts to help the communication process move along: whether it’s your turn to respond and, if so, in what form. You’ll be able to quickly, easily review your history with someone: what and when you last wrote, and what and when your potential match last wrote.
We’re refining our matching system in several significant ways. First, we’ll be changing the layout so matches are easier to process. We’re going to send you just the matches we feel are the very best ones for you.
We’re also going to make communicating with a match easier. Eventually your outreach will come with the message that you’ve been matched with this person.
A later phase will allow CatholicMatch members to match each other. We’re really excited about this because our community is so knowledgeable and helpful! That doesn’t mean we’re abandoning our current formula, but we’re revising it by adding a human element – the best of both worlds!
For those times where you feel more ambitious, you can still use search and the saved-searched feature to see who is new or someone you might have missed.
We’re creating an area of “feeds” to give you the latest on the CatholicMatch members you’re interested in (and the ones we think you might have an interest in). If someone you like has added a picture or updated a profile, we’ll let you know right away. (It’s a great conversation starter!)
These feeds will also send links to their latest community activties: responding to a thread in a forum, commenting on a blog post, RSVPing to an event, voting in a poll, etc. It’ll be easier than ever to learn about a crush and engage in conversation. Connections will bring both the romantic and the community aspects of CatholicMatch together in one place.
