Wayne and Sharon were both in their late sixties and each had known both the joy of found love and the pain of a dissolved marriage. The couple from SoCal was ready to embrace the real thing again and were able to make a connection on CatholicMatch.

If comfort level is important in a relationship—and it surely is—than this one got off to a great start.”I was immediately impressed and completely comfortable,” Wayne told CatholicMatch. He admired Sharon’s commitment to her faith, as demonstrated by her service as a Eucharistic minister. He respected her professional talent as a lawyer and he had a deep regard for her relationship with her two grown sons.

“She is articulate, deeply spiritual, a practicing Catholic, and truly a good person,” Wayne said summing it all up. It was last fall that the couple began to date and have they’ve continued to date, cultivating a true friendship that has the potential to be much more. Wayne is presently petitioning for an annulment so the couple can wed in the Catholic Church if that be where this ultimately goes.

“Sharon fills me with joy and I want to share my life with her,” Wayne professed. “The rest is in God’s gentle hands.”

Wayne and Sharon are true examples that for those who keep God and the Church at the forefront of their lives and intentions, that second chances, new beginnings, open windows—whatever you wish to call them, continue to develop and bear good fruit.
