Are you a single Catholic? Meet Your Match Today [close]

Single Living

On the fourth day of Christmas, we bring you Kevin.

What were the greatest blessings of 2011?

The year brought a number of blessings; some were material, some were spiritual, and some were both. There were prayers that were not only answered but answered in the way I had hoped.

How has your approach to finding a mate evolved?

In my first experience with online communication (on another Catholic site), I learned that you don’t just pick one interesting woman, write to her, and in your first message suggest meeting for lunch or dinner. The response to that approach taught me that one must be a bit more subtle and gradual to start.

What’s your CatholicMatch strategy?

The cornerstone of my strategy is to hang around the forums and make impertinent and (hopefully) humorous responses to other people’s comments. I occasionally make serious comments too, trusting that people will be able to distinguish the two. Making oneself visible on the forums gives a potential spouse some idea of what you are like, which I believe will likely be helpful when you decide to contact someone.

Why do you stay on CatholicMatch?

In addition to Catholic Match, I’m a member of a couple of other Catholic sites, but my visits to them are rare. I think there is something distinctly different about CatholicMatch, and it has to do with a sense of community and acceptance that exists there, even among people who don’t necessarily see things exactly the same way.

Whether you marry someone from this site or not, and we certainly hope for the former, whatever happens, you will benefit from having been here.

What’s your favorite Christmas tradition?

Among many nice things about Christmas, I particularly enjoy Christmas dinner with family at my younger brother’s house. I am the fifth of six children – actually a former child, though you wouldn’t know it – and my oldest brother and his wife have 11 children, some of whom have children of their own. God has blessed me with a large and loving family.

What is your hope for 2012?

I hope the economy gets at least back in the direction of normal and that people will be able to get back to working, saving, and building and buying houses again. With my being an employee of a building materials company, the latter item sort of hits home, so to speak.

Make a prediction for 2012.

I predict that the year 2012 will be a longer year, having one more day than the year 2011 had.
