Tom & Nicolle both strive to live life as energetic, outgoing people, unafraid of the next challenge. He believes in giving most anything a try. She wanted someone who would be willing try most anything at least once. Perhaps it’s ironic that when we contacted her with a message on CatholicMatch she had to hesitate.

“She wasn’t a paying member,” 45-year-old Tom recalled. “And she had just paid to quite a bit to be a member on another site. After prayers and reflection, she decided to join and reply to my e-mail a couple days later.”

It proved to be a good decision for Nicolle, 36. Both of them lived in the area of Raleigh, NC and their common desires to embrace life made them a natural match. “It only took a couple weeks to realize that we were made for each other,” Tom told CatholicMatch.” It’s not just the fun things of life the couple sees eye-to-eye on, but the more enduring matters of the primacy that faith and family have in one’s life.

In spite of being on two different singles sites, Nicolle was a skeptic of the whole idea. She’s an outdoor girl at heart who prefers to be away from the computer monitor and described herself as one who can be happy working out in the yard, getting covered with dirt and mud—the girl next door, if you will. But she extended her willingness to try new things to online dating and found a man she’s very compatible with, one with a sense of humor and willing to allow others to have a good laugh, even if it’s one at his expense.

So the science teacher (Nicolle) and the benefits consultant (Tom) found their common ground through a desire to live an open life and then nurtured that ground with the seeds of faith and family. Their relationship is still in its developing phase, but all signs are good. “I think she’s the product of many years of prayer that were answered,” Tom told CatholicMatch. “Still hard to believe at times that I have met someone like her.”

I hate these kind of stories! I find them nauseating!

Why are you on here reading it then? If you don’t have anything nice to say about a good story about finding love on a Catholic “match” website then you shouldn’t say anything at all. Congrats to these two!
