Lisa Duffy’s Daily Reflection

In a 2009 Robert DeNiro film, the children of a recently widowed man try to conceal the truth about their lives and make their father believe that “everybody’s fine.” Needless to say, everybody’s not fine, and they are all struggling with various life situations.

In the time leading up to and during a divorce, you may be tempted to show others that things are just fine. And there’s nothing wrong with putting on a “game face” to the outside world. But your heavenly Father knows your heart. He knows your hurts, your pains, and your troubles. He knows the trials you endure and the heartaches that you suffer. There is no concealing the truth from Him. With Him, you can be just who you are. So bring Him your worries and your pain. And allow Him to love you in your brokenness.

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. – Psalm 55:22
