There are three enemies of your soul right now: the world and all it’s distractions, the devil, and yourself. The world and all it’s distractions wants to redefine your moral standards and make you think that doing what you know is wrong is actually just fine. It wants you to put yourself first in every way possible and seek only the things that will “make you happy.” The devil is constantly whispering in your ear that you can’t succeed, that you aren’t worthy and echoes the voice of society that changing your values and standards is what you must do as a result of your divorce. He wants you to believe that you have no other choice but to do so. And you are your worst enemy if you try to fight all this on your own.
God’s grace is far more powerful than all of these three. God is not stingy with His grace or His love and He wants to shower you with graces and blessings so you can fight the good fight. Make a resolution today to allow Christ full access over your life. Seek Him in the sacraments, in prayer, in Eucharistic Adoration and let Him give you all that you need so you can be all that He wants you to be.
He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me, who sets me free from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me. – 2 Samuel 22: 48-49
