Lisa Duffy’s Daily Reflection

Sometimes, divorce can seem like a never-ending tunnel of darkness. You know the end is  ahead of you somewhere, but you can’t find it and you feel you may be stuck forever trying to find your way out. If you are feeling this way, it is understandable, but know that Jesus is walking through that darkness with you. At this time, He wants to be your strength and your guide through that darkness. He wants you to rely on Him.

It is through our reliance on Him that we will gain strength and find the way out of the darkness. Jesus tried to tell Peter that despite all his talents and goodness, he would fail if he relied on his own strength. Peter ignored Jesus and failed 3 times; when he fell asleep in the garden, when he cut off the soldier’s ear, and when he denied Christ. Often, when we hit a brick wall, we can look back and see we relied on our own strength instead of calling upon Christ.

Today, take some time to dialogue with God, and offer Him your struggles so that He can take them and bring good out of them.

The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments (Habakkuk 3:19).
