Divorce is devastating. Very few are over quickly and most are drawn out battles with painful words, shocking betrayals, and bitter fights. For anyone going through such torture, it can seem as if God is silent, absent, and leaving you to fight alone.
This is not the case, but it does feel like you are left to your own devices. How exhausting it is to feel as if you have no confidant, no protector, no safety net to fall back on!
Keep your faith in God for He is surely with you and will use your circumstances for your good, even if it seems all is lost and will never be better. It’s much easier to see God’s work in your life when you reflect on the past than recognizing it in the thick of your struggle.
Take some time to make note of God’s blessings in your life in the past and let them help reinforce your faith that God will take care of you.
Awake and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my Lord and my God! (Psalm 35: 23)
