Lisa Duffy’s Daily Reflection

I am wearied with sighing;
all night long I drench my bed with tears;
I soak my couch with weeping.
My eyes are dimmed with sorrow,
worn out because of all my foes (Psalm 6: 7-8).

Often times, finding the words to pray to God is difficult. Your heart may be feeling dry and empty. If you are feeling overwhelmed by your grief and sadness, the Book of Psalms is a great place to go to find understanding, compassion, and consolation.

There, you will find that you are not alone in your frustration over your trials because the Psalms were written for those who suffer. They were also written to inspire hope and provide a reason to trust God and rejoice in His blessings.

Whatever you may be encountering today, you will find a Psalm that can give you the words to pray and know that God is with you.

Away from me, all who do evil! The LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will receive my prayer (Psalm 6: 9-10).
