It is true that any suffering we bear – divorce, illness, death of a loved one, loss of a job, etc. – any cross is a gift from God, a blessing in disguise. Why? Why would a loving God do this? you many be thinking. It is because of the good that He will bring out of it. No matter what bad choice someone has made, God can bring more good out of the situation that any bad that happened because of it. When we suffer, we change and although change hurts, we become better people because of it. Are you able to look at your suffering with hope and await the gifts God will bring your way?
God is not stingy in giving gifts, but oftentimes, we are stingy in receiving them. We are not open to them because we are clinging to anger, resentment, un-forgiveness, etc. Today, take a step forward in trusting God, letting go of what is holding you back, and looking for whatever good may be coming out of your situation.
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him? Matthew 7:11
