Lisa Duffy’s Daily Reflection

People say divorce is like death. But if you’ve been divorced, you understand it is much more than losing a loved one.

The pain is overshadowed by shame and feelings of failure. Often, frustration continues because although you’ve lost your spouse, he or she is still around to make you hurt.

In times like these, happiness can seem to be the impossible dream. But I guarantee you, this is not the case. No matter what your circumstances, if you are with Christ, you will experience true happiness again because Christ makes all things new. Think of Martha and Mary who were grieving the loss of Lazarus… “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died!” (John 11:21). But Jesus had allowed it to happen because it was an opportunity to show people the great promise of hope and joy that lies within trusting God. It was an opportunity to glorify His Father in heaven.

He raised Lazarus from the dead, and in the way that is best for you, He will do the same in you. Hope in Christ! Divorce is not the end!

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies”.  John 11:25
