Divorce brings a multitude of changes to your life, very often against your will. The pain and suffering that goes along with trying to adjust and begin again can be extremely challenging, especially if there are children involved.
The holidays seem to be a reminder of what is missing; what was supposed to be. But I encourage you today, Easter Sunday, to also remember what is happening to you now and from this day forward… a new life. But not just some new situation you didn’t want, I’m talking about a new opportunity.
Scripture tells us that we are all new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and despite your circumstances, this means you, too. Lent is the perfect time to turn your loneliness and hardships into an offering to the Lord and Easter Sunday is the day He will fill you with consolation, joy and inner peace.
Let not your heart be troubled, and approach Easter mass with an open heart and a desire to begin your new life with Him and in Him.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. – (2 Corinthians 5:17)
