“…In Times of Trouble, Mother Mary Comes To Me…”
True story: A British soldier who was serving in Iraq was out in the field one day with his platoon, sweeping for land mines. He was wearing a rosary around his neck, one that had been given to him by his mother before he left for service. As he stooped down to check the terrain, his rosary beads fell off his neck onto the ground. He leaned over to pick them up and realized in panic that he was standing directly on a land mine. With intense fear, he called to his fellow soldiers to come to his aid.
After about 45 minutes, they had secured the land mine and he was safe. This soldier, named Glenn, was wearing this rosary because his parents had given it to him for protection. The rosary originally belonged to Glenn’s grandfather who claims Mary saved him in the same way during WWII when a blast killed six of his platoon members and he survived.
Going through a divorce can certainly seem like you are standing on a land mine that is ready to explode (and then does). During this time of suffering and searching, I encourage you to rely on Mary, my mother and yours, to help you. Her sole purpose is to lead you to her Son so you can find healing. In a world of disappointments and betrayals, Mary is a woman you can count on. She will guide you and petition her Son on your behalf.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
