Blessed Are They Who Hunger and Thirst For Righteousness…
This is an important and compelling beatitude, indeed. Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness are often the ones who suffer the most… because they understand the consequences of immoral decisions that are made and have seen the depths of the terrible effects. And when it seems that justice is never served, that the crime committed is celebrated and perpetuated, it can be easy to become bitter, mistrusting and cynical toward life. So many men and women who are divorced understand this in an acute way.
But don’t let the disappointment take root… and remember that heaven is our ultimate goal, not earth. There should be happiness in our earthly life, but there will also suffering. And the justice we seek will take place when we all stand before God and account for our lives… your sins and your good works, and everyone else’s. Nothing will go unnoticed, especially your own hunger for righteousness. Our goal is to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus where there will be no more suffering and every tear will be wiped away. Keep the faith, my friend, and hope in the promise of eternal life.
Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. – Revelation 22:12
