Lisa Duffy’s Daily Reflection

Life after divorce can often seem lifeless and mundane. We struggle to find something that will restore happiness in our lives. This is often why people jump quickly into other relationships after divorce, drink alcohol in excess, or latch onto other destructive behaviors, seeking that happiness in error.

But you can find happiness without risk in the little details, the simple everyday things you have to do. To do this, focus yourself on one main theme: that right now, you are exactly where God wants you and as you fulfill your daily responsibilities, you are cooperating with His plan. God’s plan for you is never a mistake, so whatever you are doing at this moment, wherever you are, is part of God’s plan for you. Therefore, you can go through your day doing your work, folding the laundry, having lunch with a friend… whatever it is and be focused on the fact that you are doing God’s will, despite your pain. God loves this! Doing these little things will bring you greater peace because you will become aware of God’s close presence in all that you do.

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. - Colossians 3:17
