Have you met your spouse, deepened your faith or found support on CatholicMatch? Share Your Story

Have you ever experienced a moment in your life when you knew, in that very instant, you would be forever changed? When I joined CatholicMatch less than two years ago, I carefully filled out my profile and then sat back in my desk chair with only one phrase running through my head: “This is big.”

Never before had I so consciously given up my own will to let God take back the reins and teach me that no matter how hard I tried, He was the going to be the one to ultimately lead me to my future spouse.

And He did.

Jessica & George engagementOn June 8, my CatholicMatch boyfriend, George, became my fiancé when he proposed in front of the iconic arches of our shared university.

When we joyfully arrived at a nearby restaurant to celebrate with our family and friends, my Mom hugged me and whispered quietly in my ear: “This is big.”

My engagement is the start of something even greater than I could have ever wished for myself, and it is the result of years of discernment, dotted with good and bad dating experiences. It is because of those years that I am able to clearly see George as my future husband.

We all have a story to share, but most importantly, our stories overlap because we are connected through CatholicMatch. You can read through the hundreds of success stories to see that this site does work, but as a former skeptic, I’d like to echo every sentiment found in those couples’ stories.

If you have an open heart and a willingness to follow God’s call, you will find your future spouse. Your happiness will multiply infinitely, and your faith life will be strengthened through a bond with a fellow Catholic. CatholicMatch works, and I hope to read each of your success stories on this blog in the future!

Months before I met George on CatholicMatch, I wrote this on “Faith, Hope & Love:”

“CatholicMatchers, we may all be ambitious dreamers, but God is the greatest dreamer of them all. In fact, God promises that our dreams our His dreams. Our wishes are His wishes. Our hopes are His hopes. How amazing is that? The Creator of this world values the deepest desires of our hearts, which, by virtue of being on CatholicMatch, includes finding the person each of us are meant to be with. Even if finding your future spouse seems ‘out of the realm of possibility,’ know that it isn’t. Some dreams do come true – and that’s a promise.”

Thank you for joining me on my journey and letting me share in yours.

Blessings,

Jessica

These are times when I go, Lord, I hate my job, and I do so knowing it’s for his greater good.

That statement you made, just places CM as being in the prophetic, as in being “the” hand of God in action. This place clearly is not, far from it.

It is good that you found someone, but what are the success rates on this site? I wish there was an algorithm to determine percentages and odds so I could determine if the site is worth staying on. Jessica, you are a good writer, too!
