Have you ever contemplated the painting of Jesus, the Divine Mercy?
It’s a beautiful image of the resurrected Christ with a radiant face and red and white rays showering down from His sacred heart that represent the blood and the water that flowed from His side when the Roman soldier pierced his side on the day He died. Underneath the image are the words, “Jesus, I Trust In You.”
So many people in our country and around the world are suffering this very moment because of divorce and they have no parish community to support them, no prayers offered on their behalf, and far too often, no faith in God at all. As Catholics, we have the richness of our faith to hold us, sustain us, and help us to persevere. The Divine Mercy is an excellent example of the riches of our faith. It is there to inspire us to persevere, fight the good fight, and trust that God will take care of us and keep us close to Him.
I encourage you to take 5 minutes today to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet for your intentions and for those who have no faith, and entrust yourself to Jesus! Jesus, I trust in You!
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust! – Psalm 91:2
