It was 3 a.m. and Danielle was still awake. The 26-year-old living near the Gulf Coast in Texas had been widowed just months into her young marriage. Several years later, sustained by her prayer life and Catholic faith, she still believed in love and that God had a plan for her life. With a friend having recently reported online dating success, Danielle decided at 3 a.m. to see if it might work for her.
Victor was 29-years-old and living less than an hour away in Houston. He had dated several women, but never quite found the combination of faith and personal chemistry that he was looking for in a marriage. It was he who first noticed Danielle online, and he tried to contact her. There was no response. He tried again. Danielle, still browsing the site as free member, decided to upgrade and open a conversation with him.
It took less than a month of correspondence for Victor and Danielle to see they had enough in common to take this relationship off-line. They got together at a restaurant, and the in-person chemistry was there in spades. The conversation lasted for hours, and not until the restaurant staff told them it was closing time, did they finally call it a night.
Victor and Danielle are both people who are committed to serving others. He works as a high school guidance counselor and finds fulfillment in helping young people get their lives and careers off to a positive start. Danielle is studying medicine and hoping to make her career in the pediatric field.
They live busy lives, but they have found the time to keep their relationship growing and flourishing. They laugh a lot together and love taking in all that the city of Houston has to offer. They also enjoy spending time in prayer together and being with each other’s families.
Victor and Danielle are still sorting out God’s ultimate plan for their relationship, but the talk of engagement and marriage is in the air. God did indeed have a plan for Danielle, one He chose to reveal at three in the morning.
