Church is the house of God. It is a sacred place for worship. Proper dress code must be observed by every church goer they be children, youth, adult,.parent to the oldest church attendee. Ladies must avoid sleeveless tops, mini skirts, shorts, revealing tops/clothes, but rather wear appropriate and decent clothes.

There is an issue of modesty in the church however we are supposed to accept people where they are in their faith journey and gently guide them toward modesty leading by example first.

I don't think that someone who is poor should be embarrassed about attending Mass, but even in poverty, there can be simple, modest clothing. When the Blessed Virgin appeared on earth she wasn't dressed by Saks Fifth Avenue but had very tasteful, modest garment. The Catholic Church doesn't need to have "country club" attire rules but on the other hand, something is really skewed if a family gives more thought to what they will wear for dinner and a movie compared to attending Mass. Probably more priests need to discuss this topic during their homilies. After all, if we really believe God is present, are we dressed respectfully enough?

I think it would be better to teach showing respect to the house of God, which includes being appropriately covered. The question becomes, would our Lord turn them away?

Yes!! Women wearing halter tops, shorts and mini skirts is disrespectful to the congregation and mostly to our Lord!! It is a place of worship, prayer and contemplation of our Lord..

Absolutely! Appropriate dress and

appropriate manners n behavior is

always expected

God's house is a house of worship.

it is not a mall, not a beach, not school,

not a pajama party, not a play-date...

it is time to worship God in God's house

of worship.

Even parents need to set an example.

it is never wrong to dress

correctly for mass. Cover your skin.
