There are a number of people who listed themselves as "interested" or "attending" the event, who have not answered my messages. I don't do last-minute very well, so please write me asap to let me know what your intentions are. It may be too late to add you to the Jeep tour if that's what you were interested in......

Less than a month away now! A number of people are on the guest list here who have not contacted me yet regarding their decisions (Steps 1, 2, etc). The Jeep tour is the next deadline of April 1st (as well as the hotel discount). Jeep or State Park? Write and let me know!

Tricia-Thanks for spearheading the Taliesen West tours. I hope I'm not stepping on your toes, but I wanted to know more information about the Tour costs, so I phoned them today about Senior Discount rates and Group
Tour Rates. Here is what I found out from "Laurie", at the Group Tour desk:
1. She recommended tickets be purchased online at Zerve at least 3 WEEKS in advance of tour date for late April.
2. She advised taking tours before 10am, as the late-April heat can be 90*+.
3. If purchasing tickets online through Zerve, she said tickets are $32 general admission, and $28 for Seniors, 60 and above (yay Allen--you can save $4!)
4.If the group would like to get the Group tour rate, the fee structure is as follows, and would need to be done at least 3 weeks in advance:
The 90 minute Insights Tour is based on a guaranteed price based on 15 people @ $26/person ($390) plus any tip the group wants to give. If only 10 people show up, the price is still $390. If ALL the tour people are 60 and over, then the price is based on $22/person ($330) plus tip BUT if only 10 people show up, they will check our id's to be sure each attendee is 60 or older!
5. The "Private Tour" is the regular Insights 90 min. tour with a Senior Guide, and requires 2 persons minimim for $175. Up to 6 people of any age may go on this tour, and persons #3-6 are charged at $25/each. That would make a total of $275 for 6 people ($46/person) plus tip.
6. If a group tour of any kind needs to be reserved, please email "Donna" at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope this helps others interested in this activity make decisions and reservations! Counting down the weeks until we all meet!! Bev

I know the locals are suggesting that tennis/walking shoes will be ok, but I have hiking shoes; so that's what I will bring for Sedona. I'll have walking shoes for the rest. I have diabetes and MS, so I prefer the most support possible when walking/hiking.

I'm arriving on April 23. I would be interested in going to Taliesin West on the Friday. I think one tour would be good for me, so the 10am tour sounds good. I'm going to a hockey game on Wed evening and then hope to join with some other CM'ers at the Thurs evening baseball game. Does anyone know if there is a church near the hotel with a daily Mass?

I will be hiking in Red Rocks on Saturday. After 1 1/2 hours in a car, I don't think I could spend another 2 hours in a jeep. I am looking for something to do Friday during the day and Taleisin West sounds good; but I also might want to try and meet an old classmate who lives in Phoenix.

Those who select to go to the State Park instead of a Jeep tour will choose amongst themselves what to do once in the park. I've not been there, but the website describes a number of opportunities while there. And if a car of people want to do the Long Canyon hike instead of either park or Jeep, that's fine too! It's just the transportation logistics that needs to be worked out with the group. So far, it looks like we'll need 3 cars to fit everyone in.

It's nice to see that so many people are planning to arrive on Thursday. I hope most of the local people will be able to join in early as well. The long weekend sounds really exciting. Lina, thanks for the terrific job getting us all organized. John, don't worry about the tan, most of us aren't too far ahead of you in the winter months. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

my mom would never let me go to this, she'd freak out! especially since I'm on alot of medication for life threatening grandmal seizures,I haven't had any seizures for almost 4 years now and I believe God is healing me,but I might get weaned off some medication this year if my neurologist okays it,this sounds like alot of fun though and definately interested in going even though I just joined this site almost a week ago and no one on catholic match knows me and the only problem I have is transportation to fly there since i don't drive and my mom would never let me fly alone and never be interested in going with me since I'm the first in my family to have become catholic.she's afraid that if she attends a catholic church then she'll be considered catholic and I told her it doesn't work like that and she just doesn't seem to understand.also I have no catholic friends here in florence oregon and alot of my friends are really busy with work, another problem for me is all my income goes toward my rent and bills so I have no money to buy a plane ticket to go there.

What a wonderful event! Thanks for doing so much planning Lina. If my parents weren't visiting that weekend I would attend for sure. We actually did a day trip to Sedona the last time they visited and loved it.
Suggestion: I saw in the discussion thread that someone suggested a comedy show. Jesterz in Scottsdale in a terrific, family friendly Improv show (much like "Whose Line Is It Anyway") for only $12.50. There is a show at 7 P.M.
Thanks again Lina.
