All you need is Faith

I always liked to browse at Catholic sites on internet, as a result, one day in September 2004 I discovered CatholicMatch and I was very surprised and happy to see so many people that share with me the same values and that I could get in touch with, so I thanked God for the gift of CatholicMatch and inmediately subscribed…I was very excited when I started to get mails from people interested in conversations that include God.  It was nice to receive  mails from guys who were interested on me,  but at the same time it was discouraging to see how my new friends  for one reason or other didn't make me feel the way I dreamed I should feel to pursue a deeper relationship, to fall in love.  While meeting new people here, I enjoyed reading the "success stories" session, they always helped me have hope and continued enthusiasm in my searching.  These stories confirmed me that the miracle of love is for everybody who trusts God and is willing to take that leap of faith.
I know that God puts in our hearts the desires and dreams that He will fulfill later, in His time, if we let Him work in our lives, and of course if we do our part.  In my heart  I always dreamed that I'd be with a man of certain characteristics, even physical ones, but mainly and most important spiritual and relating to his personality.  So in  July 2007, while browsing at Mexican women profiles, Alfonso saw my profile and sent me an e-mail.  I liked the way he wrote to me and so I wrote him back.  As a result we were corresponding and I found myself very interested in his e-mails and what he had to say.  Then  we starteded chatting and soon after that he asked me if he could call me.  At that point, I was ready to hear his voice and I very much liked and enjoyed talking to him.
On December 28th, 2007 Alfonso came to Mexico City to meet me.   Living in one of the largest cities in the world we had lots of places to visit, but the most important activity for us was to visit Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Shrine.  At the end of those wonderful 4 days, we started to hold hands and to experience real joy for the presence of each other.  Then Alfonso asked me to be his girlfriend, we kissed and he left.   I was so happy and shocked over all these events,  that I got lost on my way back driving back home from the airport!  The relationship grew and matured with God’s help and protection of Our Lady.  We enjoyed every call, e-mail and visit.   We have had the wonderful blessing to be able to see each other almost every month.   I have gone to Austin and really enjoy being in the United States, and Alfonso, who has Mexican roots, also enjoys  being in Mexico .Every time he comes down here,  we visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Finally this past  October 12th,  Alfonso visited me and we went to the Shrine, like usual.  We attended Mass at 12:00 pm, prayed together and when I thought it was time to leave, Alfonso told me he had a gift for me.  We looked for a private corner inside the Shrine, where he knelt down and took out of his jacket a  blue box tied with a  white ribbon and he asked me to marry him. Needless to say that in these lines I am describing the best moment of my life! I was so happy and excited, that I can't explain exactly the feeling I had in those moments.  I just remember  my hands were trembling while openning the box and  saw the most beautiful ring sparkling,  then I looked at Alfonso and looked up and saw the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe,  I was ready to say: Yes! Yes, no doubt! I told him that  there was no better place for me to receive his marriage proposal than in presence of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  We are planning to get married by the end of next year. I am already looking for the Church, the place where Alfonso and I will start a new faithful catholic FAMILY!
In my experience, it has been much more dificult to find the right person than to keep a long distance relationship.  I mean, after all the time I was searching for a person like Alfonso,  it is only natural for me to give more value on the person than the problem of being far apart. Well, it is truth that we have to struggle with some issues like finances or the "days off" in our jobs to see each other every month,  but I think that all the patience and praying we have been doing in this period of our relationship is preparing us and giving us a solid basis to live our life as a married couple.
I just want to say THANKS TO CM …THANKS!!!!  And for you who are still looking, please keep the hope and be happy because  God is going to send the right person in the right moment for all you there.  If God is calling you to the marriage state, He is going to give you the means to answer His call.    "Dios nunca se deja ganar en generosidad!  "

I always say exactly these words…God never places a desire in our hearts and doesn’t fulfill it later…and nobody is more generous than God…He always gives MUCH more than we expected!!!
