The Guy Behind The Waving Emotigram

You know the little yellow smiley graphics that wave, pray and hug?

Well, they are part of my job. My name is Bob. I have enjoyed my employment at CatholicMatch for 4 years so far. I do all of the graphic design for our advertising and web pages. So anytime you get a fancy email from us, I probably had a hand in that.

Although it is a lot of fun making neat little graphics and fancy ads, that’s not the only thing I do as a graphic designer. A lot of the work I do actually happens before your very eyes and you don’t know you are seeing it. It’s transparent – and that is a good thing. What I am referring to is the experience of the people who use our site. A lot of thought and time goes into the look, feel and organization of our content.

A simple use of color and graphics can lead someone through their experience on CatholicMatch in an efficient manner. This makes it easy for people to find someone they are interested in and able to send that all important first contact – an emotigram.

Thanks for all the comments guys and gals. I also appreciate your input on different ideas for different emoticons. I’ll keep your ideas in mind when I have time to make some more.

I remember you Kymm. Hope you are doing well. It may sound cliche but I do believe there is someone out there for everyone. Keep up the good fight.

Hey Bob, “Kill two birds with one stone”. How about a dancing hula dancer. One male and one female. That should make everyone happy. As to the “surfing” emoticon, can you animate that to move, or show some level of movement (like you do with the waving hand and the burned ones)?
I just throwing this stuff out there. You are doing a fine job with the emotigrams.
Oh, by the way, I have seen people (like me) ask for commercial emoticons. I know that characters are property of the originator. You may want to let us know that every once in a while.
    Keep it going.

Thanks for your requests Brian. I hope to have some time here soon to create some new emotigrams. I will have to look into the animation capabilities to see if that can be done.

Thank you, Bob, for designing the various emotigrams. I like them. But I haven’t subscribed to the Catholic Match. Therefore, I can use the only one free emotigram. I hope I can subscribe and use the Catholic Match as soon as possible to find my soulmate.

A couple of weeks ago, I requested the “Hang Loose” emote…the ticket was referred to somebody (perhaps yourself) to consider. Has anything come of this request? May7 I add to that request a Hula girl??
Mary Ann (aka me :surfing: )

Thanks for your requests Mary Ann. I like your ideas. We’ll definitely consider them when I have time to make some more emotigrams.
