Sixth Day Of Christmas: Bernie Prays For World Peace

On the sixth day of Christmas, we spotlight Bernie-645443.

What were the greatest blessings of 2010?

The greatest blessings for me were the continued good health and growth in knowledge and judgment of my children. I’m grateful the world at large remained as peaceful as it did in these times. Another blessing was being led to CatholicMatch.

How has your approach to finding a mate evolved?

I have just begun looking for someone to share my life. Thus far my approach has been to join CatholicMatch, then lurk in the forums and recently make a few contributions. Now I have begun to communicate with some folks through email.

What’s your CatholicMatch strategy?

The only CatholicMatch strategy I have now is to continue to post ideas and comments, communicate through messages and chats, and if God wills, hope to meet someone compatible to progress to face-to-face meetings.

Why do you stay on CatholicMatch?

I stay on CatholicMatch for the hope of a potential partner and the overall high level of character and integrity of the people here.

The members posting in the forums have an amazing body of knowledge and experience to address many issues and exhibit a rare sensitivity. The forum postings frequently educate me and sometimes force a new look at my opinions.

What’s your favorite Christmas tradition?

When I was in D.C., it was the midnight Renaissance and Medieval carols and Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. In Oregon it is the Cantores in Ecclesia carols before midnight Mass at Holy Rosary. At home it is setting the tree with the hand-made ornaments from when the children were small.

What’s your hope for 2011?

For the world, my hope is for a greater level of peace and understanding and more clarity in the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. In the U.S., I hope for an even more widespread understanding of, and appreciation for, the blessings and freedoms enabled by our constitutional government.

Personally, I hope for continued good health and growth in wisdom for my children, along with a more steady employment situation for myself.

Make a prediction for 2011.

I wish I could be positive, but my predictions would be that the economic situation will worsen with rising inflation added; Congress will not produce a balanced budget; and some Americans will be held hostage or need to be evacuated from an embassy or public building.
