Member Spotlight: Mary Margaret Braces For 50

MaryMargaret-352381 turns 50 on Valentine’s Day eve, and the second-grade teacher who’s never been married is trying to maintain a bright outlook. “It’s a little bothersome,” she said of the milestone, “but I’m hoping the best is yet to come!”

Mary Margaret joined CatholicMatch two years ago because “it’s getting harder and harder to find someone interesting to date at my age!”

A demanding school schedule keeps the Ohio blonde from using the site as much as she “should,” she says, but it’s already brought some lessons. “I’m learning more about what it is I’m looking for.”

She has no plans for a Valentine’s date but usually gets together with a few single friends Feb. 14 for dinner or a movie.

Overall, Mary Margaret is embracing 2011 and seeking new adventures. She loves travel, theater, concerts and dining out and hopes to visit Maine this summer. And though the Irish Catholic is humble, she believes she has a lot to offer a future mate.

“I have very little baggage,” she says. “I have a great sense of humor, am easy going, and have realized that everything in life needs balance and should be shared with another.”

I am delighted by Mary’s life story, she is almost my age, for i turned 51 years on November 2011 still i am single, though i have faith and confidence that God has someone i can match with somewhere. Though i am a widow and a mother, being single is not the best way of living and when someone is single you tend to live a funny life like you shelf yourself, of which i believe it is not the way God want us to live. Any single person a man or a lady should pray to God to give him/her courage to open up to true life. For the Bible says in Isaiah 41: Verse 10. Do not fear, for i am with you, do not be afraid , for i am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. The major thing here is FEAR which holds most single persons back. I am a member but i have not paid for the services so i am not able to get in touch with my matches but i am praying God next year 2012 i will manage to pay and get started. With God all things are possible and i believe in Catholic Match site we will make it. Mary keep it up and lets all singles pray for one another. Merry Xmas and a Happy New year 2012. Anne.

Trust in the Lord, Mary! HE will provide! :o)
I turned 50 in April, and I’m loving it! Don’t get me wrong, I understand your feelings. I too, have never married, nor do I have children. But, remember, 50 is the NEW 30!!!!!! I read somewhere, that “at 50, you have thoughtfulness, dignity and spiritual elegance!” AMEN!
Let’s keep each other in our prayers. I wish you all God’s blessings! Have a fantastic birthday! Let it be your best yet! Veronica

Happy Birthday Mary Margaret!!! I just turned 50 in September…and yes there is life after this landmark date! I just joined a short 2 weeks ago, and it seems like a very good place to meet like-minded people. At least we have the common Roman Catholic bond which is important in life’s journey. All the best from South Florida! Michael 🙂

My first love was born on 2/14/? she was and I’m sure remans a wonderful person, as I am sure you are.
After 40+ yrs. in Alaska I am ready to move to warmer climates, I just don’t know if I could take the heat of AZ, TX LA or the deep south…I might melt!
Maine is a wonderful State. If given the chance drive up route #1 along the coast- lots of small towns and sea front. (but bring a rain slicker) .
My best wishes to you! Tom
