Well, this past summer I went to Romania with my son. This summer I would love to go to Texas to visit a childhood friend. If I do go, I plan on going with my little boy.

I just completed my first America By Rail trip, the Pacific Costal Oddessy. Thirteen fabulous days traveling from Battle Creek MI to Chicago to Los Angeles CA on the Southwest Chief. Scenery, food and roomette were the best. My friend Sandy and I spent plenty of time in the Observation car meeting other interesting travelers and enjoying the scenery of MO, CO, NM, AZ & CA. After spending a day and a half sightseeing in LA, San Pedro & Long Beach, we boarded the Princess Sapphire for a week’s cruise of the Pacific Coast. Our stops included Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Astoria, OR, Seattle, WA, Victoria & Vancouver, BC. Each city was unique and the friends we met along the way made it my most memorable vacation ever! Our two day return trip on the Empire Builder brought us across the top of the US. Volunteers from the National Park Service boarded the train and spent four hours narrating the sights. Glacier National Park was spectacular! We covered 6,227 miles and enjoyed every minute! I recommend train travel to anyone who really wants to see our beautiful country! Our hosts took care of every detail and all tipping was included in the price of the trip which also included 32 great meals. I hope to do it again taking a grandchild each time.

I’ve wanted to go to Athens ever since the Navy ship I was assigned to diverted to chase Soviet submarines in the Mediterranean! I’m going to make it this time, on a cruise ship! I’ve thrown in Istanbul for good measure!

I will continue working, jogging, and biking and when August gets here, I am going to Baltimore and DC. Enjoy the heat; it is better than snow. Just ask me…… I know. Glen.

Hi, I’m planning to fly across the country to Spokane, Wash to attend my son’s wedding near Sand Point, Idaho. Northern Idaho is absolutely beautiful. I hope to spend time in Glacier National Park. I’ve never been there. I hope you all have a good summer and enjoy your vacations !

Planning an end-of-summer trip out to Yellowstone / Cody, Wyoming, and parts of southern Montana. I’m a native New Englander, but love the American western landscapes. Very much looking forward to some beautiful scenic byways and exploring a few great national parks. And this will be a reward to myself, as my goal is to finish up the final three classes for my Master of Arts in Ministry — whew!

No real plans, I just do. There will be lots of trips to beaches, and amusement parks, winery tours, dancing and cook outs with neighbors. However, in November, it’s Vegas with the girls. Now that trip is planned & booked.
