Eric & Joanne Are Biking Their Way To Happiness Together

Joanne could feel the big 3-0 approaching, and the 28-year-old from the Indianapolis area knew she had already overcome a lot of life’s obstacles. She was looking for the fairy tale ending. And while such doesn’t really exist until one arrives on Heaven, Joanne is optimistic that she’s on the right track thanks to a flourishing relationship with her new boyfriend Eric.

Eric is 32-years-old and also from the Indianapolis area. It was right at the point when Joanne was going to give up on her subscription to CatholicMatch that he saw her profile and reached out. “I truly believe in my heart that God arranged for us to meet,” she said. If it’s true that God often acts at the 11th Hour, he surely did so in this case.

This past Christmas was when Eric & Joanne met for the first time. In spite of their proximity, it’s unlikely—in fact Joanne says probably impossible—that they would have met without an online connection. When they did finally get together they saw how much they shared—not just the prerequisite of faith that grounds a relationship, but the common interests that elevate it to a new level.

“We have an amazing aura of energy around us when we are together,” Joanne told CatholicMatch. And they’ve shared plenty of time together to allow that energy to work. “Christmas, New Year’s, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day & the Fourth of July,” she said enthusiastically, marking the holidays that they’ve spent together.

This past February’s Super Bowl in Indianapolis is just one of many festive events Eric & Joanne have attended together.

And being located in Indianapolis they had the benefit of one more “holiday.” Their home city hosted the Super Bowl last February and they spent time at the different pregame events put on by both Indianapolis and the NFL.

The relationship is more than just the holiday fun times though. For the summer, Eric and Joanne each bought vintage Schwinn bicycles. Not only is this a way from them to enjoy the outdoors together in a relaxing, casual way, but it has particular sentiment for Joanne.

“It reminds me of my grandparents love story,” Joanne said. “Grandpa Clark brought Grandma Clark a beautiful Schwinn bicycle and fox furs when she was a teenager.” All these years later, the Schwinn and romance are still connected with each other on Joanne’s family tree.

When not biking, Eric and Joanne are making the rounds of parish festivals in the area, supporting the local churches and having a good time. “I have met a wonderful man that I feel blessed to know,” Joanne told CatholicMatch. “God works in mysterious ways!”
