A Divorced Man’s Prayer

My Lord and My Father, I come before You to seek Your guidance and strength. My life seems to be even more of a mystery than ever, for the life I recognized and the future I counted on has completely changed, never to return.

It is now that I need You to show me how to use the gifts You have given me. Sadness fills me, but life keeps moving forward and I need to press on. Give me the grace, Lord, to move forward, too.

I look to Your holy passion and death and observe You as You embrace Your cross, carrying it with love. Grant me the strength to do the same. I observe You in such incredible pain, yet everyone You meet along the way of the cross, You greet with kind words. Lord, show me Your love, that I may imitate Your example.

Help me be stronger, wiser, more charitable, and more trusting of Your plan for me. I know that in the end, You will bring good things out of the bad and for now, the best thing I can do is to follow You as a son follows his father.

I believe in You, I trust You, I love You. Amen.

But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world (Galatians 6:14).

“A Divorced Man’s Prayer”: Those are my thoughts implicitly each day as I carry forward in my daily life. The prayer sums up my creed and is very uplifting; asking for grace, strength, and wisdom is of the utmost importance. Making this request of our Holy Father gives us Hope, instills Charity, and brings us a semblance of Peace. When we carry these virtues into the world and the space between us and other individuals, it has a warming effect which engenders sharing and conversation that can have a positive impact of connecting with our community and tightening up the loose ends. All this as a result of a momentous prayer, be blessed!

I really liked this article. Let us al remember that it is a very lonely feeling to be without a spouse whether it is death or divorce.Starting or continuing a new life is very difficult. It is very wonderful to be assured that we can continue our journey if we will trust in God and reach out to others for support Jesse Hayes
