64, Harvest, ALI have been single for the last 13 years and moved to Alabama from Texas about two years ago. Times have changed and ways have changed in meeting new people (men)... so thought I would attempt this new venture. I am a cradle Catholic, and my roots are with the Catholic Church so I am looking for someone who will be placing God first in their life, along with family, and community. Family is very important to me. I have a married daughter who has blessed me with four of the best grandkids EVER. (Yup, I'll challenge anyone on that one!) The laughs I have with them is what makes life fun. I am looking for someone who wants a dating partner, and to see what happens during that time period. Looking for someone who is uplifting and enjoys and appreciates life to its fullest. I love to smile and laugh about myself and what funny jams I can get myself into. Mistakes have been made by every human and how we deal with them is what makes us all a better person! Yes I am optimistic and will always give a smile to anyone who passes in my path. That's just part of my southern upbringing and charm. Things I like to do...... still can't beat a good old high school football game on Friday nights! But I also like watching (better attending though) college football games. Love to try out new restaurants and catching the latest movie. I love to go junking and finding just the right piece to restore and I also love to work in my flower garden. And when all else fails... you can find me curled up with a book.
64, Birmingham, ALI'm a jersey girl who has been in Alabama for the last 33 years. I'm a teacher and I like my job. I like to go out to eat...I love movies...I also love Seinfelt and Larry David. I like the beach in the summer and love musicals. I love a good conversation and love to discuss anything. I have 3 grown children and none live at home. I have a basset hound who is great except for the occasional barking...lol...I hope you like what you have read and to hear from you soon.
68, McCalla, ALI am an outgoing positive person. Divorced for 11 years. One Daughter. Enjoy cooking, fine wine, and fine dining. Cooking is my passion. Very relaxing for me and usually good eating. I enjoy family and traveling. I have seen most of the states and visited Europe a few times.
78, Elkmont, ALI am looking for someone with whom to connect.. I find writing about myself difficult. I think getting to know me would be more successful via conversation and meetings. I enjoy local travel to see, enjoy and learn. Current interest is learning to ride my horse and trail riding. I am a good guy looking for a good girl.
64, Birmingham, ALI am out going energetic. I love to be around people. Have fun and laugh. I love to funny and make jokes. My I idea of a great evening is to grill out or cook and watch a good movie. I love coffee and conversation. I also enjoy being around friends and family.
66, Birmingham, AL(I will not repond to emotigrams without a text message too.) I attend daily Mass, I pray the rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy a number of times during the week and attend adoration most weeks. I also go to confession regularly. I have been a volunteer with Catholic Engaged Encounter for over 25 years. I am also a lay advocate with the Tribunal, helping individuals as they prepare their documentation to file for an annulment. I am sort of retired, although I'm busier than ever. Now I'm doing things I want to do instead of things I have to do. I'm a transplanted Yankee - born in Chicago, raised in MD, went to high school in Washington, DC during the race riots, college in WV with a BS in Math, law school in New Orleans while working for South Central Bell in the engineering dept, and finally an MA in Elementary Ed from UAB in 2001. I worked for SCB/BellSouth for 26 years first as an outside plant engineer, designing pole lines, conduit, manholes, and cable for the outside plant network, a hard-hat job. Then I moved into Network Planning, publishing planning guidelines for construction and support of the interoffice network, often requiring VP approval. I retired, went back to school and then taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade for 7 years. I never worked so hard, for so little money, and enjoyed it more. I view life as my cup is half full and I'm trying to enjoy what time I have left, doing the things I think matter. I babysit my grandkids as needed. I have an active 3 1/2 year old grandson and a 1 year old granddaughter. I tutor a number of students in math (4th grade through Geometry). Because I had such a void in my life when my husband died, I quickly filled the empty time with things I felt were worthwhile, including daily Mass. I have been taking ballroom dance lessons and recently started taking harp lessons. I am happy with my life, just lonely once in a while. I miss male companionship. I'm a very independent person with a lot to keep me busy. I try to exercise 3 times a week for my peace of mind. Im willing to try new things but not skydiving or bungee jumping. In the past 2 years I did try to learn to drive? a motorcycle although I couldnt get the hang of the clutch and shifting. At least I tried. Life is too short now not to experience life to the fullest.
67, Anniston, ALI became Catholic 25 years ago and have never regretted my decision. I enjoy watching football, reading, being with friends, discussing things with intelligent people, traveling. I especially enjoy getting together with friends for watching football and playing games. One thing I love doing is going to thrift stores to see if I can find any bargain treasures. Recently I found a piece of Murano glass for $1.99 at Goodwill! I also like browsing antique stores looking for the perfect gift for someone. I don't spend a lot of money but I look for something that evokes a memory. I moved back to my hometown recently after over 40 years away. My longest place of residence was Nashville, Tennessee. I love being back physically with my family and old friends. I had a good marriage to an intelligent man so I miss the closeness and the interaction of being with someone. Don't read that as I am looking for another husband but rather a friend and then see what develops. My idea of the perfect retirement is summers in Maine and winters in Florida. If you are interested, send me a note and we'll start a conversation!
