Fall is beautiful in beautiful Baldwin County, where I am blessed to live. The country drives this time of year looks like pictures out of one of God's photo albums. I like quiet time alone and with special people who share my interests. I tend to be a "hopeless romantic" who knows its possible to share special moments with a gentleman without sacrificing my religious principals. I love sunsets on the water, star-gazing and listening to the wind and rain, birds singing...God's beauty is all around us! My love of birds has led me to own pet birds of my own (all kinds of finches). I have an outdoor aviary and it is so neat to see the birds fly and build nests like they would in their native environments (Africa and Australia).
  • Brian, 35 from Huntsville, AL
    35, Huntsville, AL
Hello! My name is Brian, and I'm from Huntsville, Alabama. I've spent most of my childhood and adult life living in the Rocket City (Space and Rocket Center). My parents have blessed me with a K-12 Catholic education, and I am a alumnus of St. Bernard Preparatory School in Cullman. From there, I went to Auburn University to study in the Pre-Veterinary curriculum. I worked for the AU's Veterinary College taking care of cats for research and volunteered taking care of birds of prey at the Raptor Center. My involvement with the Catholic Student Organization is where my faith deepened. I made good friends of solid faith. My story continues from there leading back to Huntsville. I was active and athletic both in high school and my Auburn days. I enjoy playing sports, especially jogging and basketball. Auburn had a lot of opportunity for me. It wasn't just about academics, work, and church. I played intramural sports. One, out of many, was football, and while playing this sport I suffered a blow to my head. To make a long story short, I needed medical attention closer to where my family was living. I suffer a headache to this day from that blow. Doctors seem to be running out of options for as to resolve this headache and bring healing. It's one of my daily crosses, where Jesus suffers in me and He shares this suffering with me from His Cross, and I unite my portion of the suffering to His. It is through suffering, of its various forms, that the Lord God teaches me the greatest and neatest things - that is: how to love when my pain hurts and stretches my capacity to exemplify patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, and joy. Suffering is redemptive, if I allow Christ to take my hand, since He has already shown me how to suffer. When I came back to Huntsville, I eventually got a degree in Education, and I taught in a local Catholic school for two years teaching middle school Religion and Social Studies. For two years I've taught Spanish Confirmation class with a couple dear friends, and Sunday school for twelve years. The Catholic Faith is important to me. I even work for my Parish community serving around the church setting up for events, maintenance, and a long list of other tasks. I like reading, especially spiritual writings from the saints, watching movies, walking and playing with my dog, Belle, visiting with family, and spending time outdoors. Although, I'm not a Veterinarian; God is not done with me yet!
  • Sara, 28 from Mobile, AL
    28, Mobile, AL
I am your typical southern belle. I grew up in Louisiana with nine siblings and have strong family values. I currently live in Mobile and work in Pascagoula. My Catholic faith is a big part of my life, and I am heavily involved in the community. My morals and values are very important to me and looking to meet individuals who feel the same. I love meeting new people and attending social functions within the area. I love taking on projects around my house and have previously flipped a house. I have a huge interest in technology and the latest gadgets. I recently obtained my real estate license and am hoping to start making some extra money on the side. For those familiar with Myers Briggs, I am an ESTJ which means that I can come across as demanding and opinionated. I hold strong traditional social and family values and am skilled at organization and time management. I need a man who will listen to me and make me feel understood, but also capable of leading an alpha female. I have a few wounds of the past so it might take me a bit to be able to trust. You just need to make it clear to me that you are going to stick around in difficult times and in times of need.

Update to below: I was baptized on April 15, 2017 at the Easter Vigil service, so now I've fully converted to Catholicism and partake in all sacraments. Hello, I'm new to Catholic Match and I'm also new to the Catholic faith and family as I'm in the process of converting from being a non-denominational Christian for the last 40 years to Catholicism. You might be wondering why and the simple answer is that over the past several years, God has led me to the Catholic Church which now I believe is The Church - He has called me HOME. This process is both exciting and humbling. What am I looking for in a partner? I'm looking for a man who has a heart for the Lord first and foremost, not just a "good guy" but a Godly man. Loyalty, trust, and communication are key to a peaceful, joyful, loving relationship. I enjoy traveling, outdoor roller skating, going for a leisurely run, golf, tennis, outdoor/beach volleyball, love anything having to do with the water- sailing, boating, or just floating around in the ocean....hiking - I love nature and animals! I enjoy dancing! Swing/ballroom. Although I'm an "empty nester", I love children and family life. I have one son who's a junior in college. I have a desire to serve in missions both locally and abroad.

Hello CatholicMatch world! Today is Mardi Gras day 2017 and I have taken a much needed day off from my hectic job. My coworkers think I'm entrenched in festivities downtown. (One magnificent Gala a few nights back was all I needed to meet my annual Mardi Gras needs.) In reality I have treated myself to a lovely day of cleaning, organizing, reading and cooking. Doors and windows are open on this beautiful, breezy Feb day in the Deep South. I've enjoyed a bit of N.O. Jazz on Pandora, 2 healthy meals and uninterrupted quiet time to check out the daily scripture readings on the USCCB website. It's a relief to have time to scratch off a few things on the ole to-do list. Unfortunately the words 'complete taxes' still remains on the notepad. But I did update my retirement plan, pay bills and delete 124 emails. That is when I discovered the 14 emails urging me to complete my CatholicMatch profile. Now, at the urging of one of my furry roommates to spend time on the couch with her, I've decided to use this time to write. Sunset on the bay is in less than 2 hours so I better speed things along. What am I passionate about? My Catholic Faith! In the past 5 years, I've become extremely interested in a deeper understanding of our great faith, and living it out daily. A greater peace an happiness has resulted. There is never enough time in my day for all the Catholic books, articles, radio and prayer I desire. I am passionate about loving my family, my country, and contributing to the music ministry at my church. A few of my secondary passios Include spending time outdoors, travel, sailing, hiking, snow skiing, cooking, reading, crafts, dancing, listening to good music, keeping fit, discovering good wine and art, sunsets, a cozy fire, honest conversation, laughing and sleeping in on the weekends! I look forward to living out God's plan. I hope it includes falling in love with someone to share the rest my life with. I also look forward to my children finding their perfect loves, and grandchildren?

I am passionate about life. I was affected with polio when I was an infant and lost the ability to walk without braces and crutches. However, I have always viewed life optimistically and embraced the challenges that came with it. I look forward fulfilling my purpose (whatever it may be) in this lifetime.

I'm overwhelmed with seeking my purpose... but, accepting the importance of making my small contribution. I know and accept the fact I will never be perfect, but it would mean the world If I could find another to help me be better. ->If you use Myers-Briggs personality testing i'm ENTP or INTP depending on how I get tested. ->Yes, I have a Facebook account, if one hinted they don't want me to have a Facebook account then discoved I deleted mine... a proposal is in all likelihood around the corner. -That goes for all my other online social accounts as well. Twitter, Circles, LinkedIn... -Granted anyone using a Steemit account cannot "delete" it per say, but I can lose the private key.
