Hey! I am someone who loves this world. I have a diverse range of interests and curiosities. I am passionate about learning and understanding. I am an avid reader of history and science. I am optimistic by nature. I am half introvert and half extrovert. I am kind. I am a gentleman.
I'm a lady looking to make new friend(s) to spend time with and enjoy what life has to offer. I've raised a family and I am about to retire from my job, so I find myself thinking about the future and ways to make the most of my time. My three children are now young adults and I have a big family scattered around the state. My interests are hiking with my dogs and going on road trips exploring new places and meeting people. I also like to go camping and fishing and sit around a camp fire telling stories. I hope to travel more in retirement and volunteer. I am an award winning quilter and have a strong desire to create beautiful things, I also knit and read a lot. I hit the gym 3-4 times a week and enjoy cooking for family and friends. I'm loyal to a fault and have simple values borne of my wonderful parents and family, as well as a parochial education. Drop me a line and lets chat!
I am passionate about my children. They are funny and loving and bring me a lot of joy. Since I am not native to Alaska, my community is my adopted family who takes care of me. I couldn't do it without them. I enjoy the outdoors, in camping, hiking, fishing, skiing, gardening and reading. I am a huge music fan , so there is usually music playing somewhere in my house/car/office.
I am an extrovert who enjoys coffee first thing in the morning. My career experience was in IT Management/Project Management. My soulful side is artistic-I am a watercolorist. Painting is very meditative for me. I love to read classic literature, philosophy, spirituality, poetry and go through a mystery thriller in less than a day. I have always wanted to share a book by reading it aloud to each other. Intellectual stimulation is a necessary part of my life-usually through enjoyable conversation. Ambiance is very important-I need light, bright colors, quiet environment with some body of water near by. I prefer the ocean and fall asleep just listening to the waves and smelling the salty breeze. I enjoy the full range of my senses. I can just sit in the forest smell the pine trees, hear the animals and imagine what it might have been 100 years ago. I am also a realist, practical person who knows how to "live on a dime" but prefers to be able to have some choices. Life turns me on, walking through a city neighborhood hearing the different ethnic sounds and watching the folks keeps my energy up. I grew up when we still had record players and party lines for phones. I enjoy history and got into the blues and jazz in high school. We can throw in some classical music, folk songs and rock n'roll. Let's listen to "Blue suede shoes" and twist. I am confidant, compassionate, analytical, a deep thinker, spiritual, affectionate woman who speaks her mind. You won't need to guess what I am thinking because I wear my emotions. I am emotionally passionate and I am not afraid to take emotional risks. I am not looking for a 'twin" and I like to share differences. I am not going to jump into anything and I don't believe I need to prove my love to you by loosing who I am. I know how to take care of me and will make sure that love over flows to share with you. But I need to be whole to do that. I have traveled through out the US and have made many states my home throughout my life, I enjoy learning about other cultures and participating in their life style. I have traveled to West Africa, England, Scotland, Canada and Peurto Rico. There is so much more to experience during my life journey. I strongly believe that tomorrow is not promised so I try to live each day as it would be my last. My favorite environment is sunny, warm, ocean near by with access to both a metrolpolitan area and small towns. I care about people, animals, nature-all of God's creation.
I believe God is not dead and he is surely alive. I am optimistic and very much aware life isn't perfect, and sometimes, that's the beauty of it because life itself happens and happiness is a choice.
I am passionate about helping folks with substance abuse issues. My family and friends are important to me and i am hoping to have a family of my own knowing i was privileged to have experienced these.
I like to read, sing, listen to christian music especially on klove, i like to walk my dog, go for long drives, cleaning, cooking and relaxing on my days off. I like to laugh, have my serious moments and I definitely have my silly moments.
Once upon a time there was this guy who was born in New Jersey. He grew up loving the Yankees and moving around around the country. He tried living in Ohio but it was too dull, he tried Texas but it was too hot, and then he finally he found his way to Alaska where he found awesome mountains, baseball to play, hockey to play, and lots of good food to eat. One day this guy went on Catholic Match and found a talented, intelligent, foxy lady to talk to. He liked her and she liked him. The end.
I'm in my 30's and have been single for most of my adult life. I'm a homebody by nature, and I had a moment of clarity that I'd never meet new people if I didn't break out of my introverted shell. So, here I am.
I'm the fiscal officer at the local university bookstore. I love my job, my coworkers, being around a university, and the ability to take classes.
I'm an adult convert to the Faith, and am Byzantine by rite. I am currently making a Roman parish home for now, but my Faith is grounded in Eastern Catholicism. That said, I enjoy experiencing the vast breadth of the Catholic patrimony, from Eastern to the Ordinary Form, to the Latin Dominican Rite. It's all beautiful.
My parents and older brother are local, and I see them fairly regularly. My extended family are on both coasts of the lower 48. My parents have been together for 42 years, and my prayer is to meet a man that I can build a marriage like that with, God willing.
As I mentioned I'm somewhat of a homebody, so my hobbies are more of the indoor type... cooking, reading, cross stitch, action movies. That said, I'm breaking my shell, and exploring other interests.. performing arts, walking, gently getting back into shape. I like to travel, but also like to plan far in advance, so I don't do it often. I'm not big on camping/fishing/etc, more of a city girl by heart.
I am focusing now on integrating my Faith into my everyday life. If my schedule permits, I will go to Mass/Divine Liturgy daily.
I am a down to earth laid back guy. I am currently working full time Air Force Reserve.. I enjoy last minute adventures as well as having friends over or watching a documentary. According to personality tests I am an ISTP. This means that I am naturally more independent, reserved and I value a small group of close friends. I was raised Catholic and take my faith seriously. I am striving to grow and strengthen my relationship with Christ.
I am a person who like meeting new friends, enjoying Mother nature, having a good sence of humor, likes and watches Basketball games, action movies, would like to travel and have a good time, and try to do what ever I can.....and pray too. I'm also passionate and loveable.
My life is beautiful and full. I have a beautiful waterfront property outside of Juneau Alaska with a nice house my son's and I built. They built the shell. I've done everything else. I'm very capable and handy with tools and equipment. This place is where I grew up and my dream to retire to. I don't want a "relationship ". What I'm interested in is someone who might want to come to Alaska for the summer and help me around the place. It's a long shot but I'd rather have a good Catholic around so the prayer time and conversation can be matched.
