Hi. I 'am not one to talk about myself much in this way, so here goes... People who know me would probably tell you I'am a pretty easy going person, and if someone was in need of a hand needing something done they will probably find me first on the scene.,. I also like taking interest in other peoples lives where ever possible.. I love seeing people laugh so I try and find ways to make this happen when ever the opportunity presents its self. The other side of me which the modern world may find a bit strange.,is a deep sense of respect ,and caring for the elderly., Where you will find me at times conversing with them in coffee shops / social gatherings . I love live theatre, golfing, swimming, skiing, and or just working with my hands repairing, re- building equipment, machines and or wood working etc. I love making homemade Pizza.and., shmoosing through junk / antique stores ...! Trying to find that special gem.and while taking note of how things were once made. Dining out, dancing, and going to jazz bars is ok too., seeing I love jazz especially latin, vocal, fushion style .

Like me, this profile's a work in progress. So it may change as I work on it, but for now: I've been told that I "celebrate people" in the sense of seeing and supporting the best within them (whether currently realized or potential). I mention this because it's a key part of how my faith is at the heart of who I want (and strive) to be: one who celebrates the other for the person God has created them to be, and helps them to grow more deeply into that best self in whom God delights. My faith is an integral part of my life, in that, while I'm far from perfect, it's kind of the lens through which I see...everything. The main ways that I live it on a day-to-day basis are prayer and service to those around me (often in little ways). I've been learning lately the importance of joy and humor in the life of faith, largely through some talks etc. by Fr. James Martin, SJ, author of "Between Heaven and Mirth" (among other things). My family and friends are deeply important to me. They have always come first, though I've been learning to take care to tend myself as well. Children like me, perhaps because they can tell that I respect and take them seriously just as much as I do adults. I should note that I don't treat them like adults, just as deserving the same respect. I work with teachers in adult education settings, helping them to better achieve their goals in a range of ways from coaching to working with them to develop various materials. Over the years, I've had opportunities to work with teachers and students from primary through through grad school, and I always learn a lot from the experience. I don't take life, or myself, too seriously. O.k., that's probably not quite true. Yet. But I'm continuing to work on it. On work-life balance too. I have a lot of capacity for passion, for thought, for compassion and empathy, for intimacy and affection, for laughter and delight, for many things. I have a fairly lively (if quiet) sense of humor. I enjoy being creative and expressive, in various ways: writing, singing, even some woodworking and rug-hooking lately--despite varying levels of skill. I like music of all kinds; books (lately a lot in public domain); being outside; long walks; good conversations, whether intellectual or kinda wacky or both; and many other things. And I'm open to being exposed to more....

I find these things difficult. I'm a Catholic man looking for a Catholic woman. I have three kids, the youngest is in her first year of college. I guess I consider myself a devout Catholic, but I've lived a very colourful life. I can be serious or slapstick, comfortable talking to diplomats or down-and-outers. I can be laid back or intense, depending on the situation. I would like to meet someone who understands that I want to get up on Sunday morning to go to Mass, but can reconcile that with a desire to yuk it up with friends (your friends too). I like a sense of humour, intelligence, common sense, the ability to feel comfortable dressed up or dressed down, and I won't deny the physical appeal factor. Morality, social conscience, awareness of the world around us and the ability to talk about it are desirable. Like U2 say in their song, I still haven't found what I'm looking for. I may add more later, or maybe we can find out more about each other in person.

I am a single guy who enjoys his family and friends, I have never married or lived with anyone either. I have had girl friends, but never committed, always because of circumstances, which I will tell you latter. I have lived is several places, which I will tell you later, I have always moved due to family when I was young and due to my job as I got older. I have in the past been fortunate to travel and in the more recent past due to illness in my family, I had to put that part of my life on hold, but I look forward to travelling again. I am hoping that the woman I will get to know will share my love of travel as well. Often in this section we are asked to tell what other people say about "me", I believe few people ever say anything bad about themselves in this section, so here it goes, I am a patient person, I try to reserve judgement till I get as many facts as I can, you know that old saying " the finger you point at others has three fingers pointing back at you", I am affectionate man, caring man and most important I like the guy I see in the mirror every morning. I am trying to lose weight, I will, that is something that anyone change, but who you are, that is far more difficult.

I am a happy and simple woman who enjoys and appreciates everything I have. I know how to work hard to accomplish what you want in life. I am the kind of person who cares about others. I do some volunteer work in my parish and I like to help and work for people that are in need. As I like to cook, I usually help preparing meals for temporal workers. Besides caring about others, I do also care about myself. I like to have a healthy lifestyle and love to exercise few times a week. My favorite activities are biking, running, working out and playing volleyball. As a Latin girl, I do like to dance, especially Latin music; even though I like to dance I am not in the club every weekend. My family and friends are important for me, so I try spending a reasonable time with them.

When I am not teaching, I am singing in choir, dancing in a Zumba class, or trying new restaurants with friends. My true passion though is living out my faith in the area of Catholic education. I have spent most of my life on the West Coast, but also spent part of my childhood in the Caribbean. I am a funny, outgoing person who gets energy from being around others. I am close with my family and have a large network of friends, most of whom I have made through common interests. I look forward to making new connections online in the hopes of finding the one that God selected for me to spend my life with.
