37, Victoria, CAI am a graduate of international political science. I attempted several times to get into the diplomatic corps. However, I was not able to get that position. So, I taught English In Asia for 4 years before returning to Canada. Now I am living in Victoria hoping to get into UVic for Graduate School in the field of international relations.
34, Victoria, CAHi all, I'm going through a transition in which I will be coming into full communion with the Catholic Church so I'll have update my profile accordingly when that's done. So for now, if you have any questions....please just ask :)
62, Victoria, CAAfter praying a novena to St. Therese of Lisieux, I believe God has a Catholic husband for me, someone that I can share my life with who is hopefully willing to do volunteer work, cook with me, read the Bible, travel and enjoy the outdoors as well as going to the occasional dance, taking photos and going for long walks. I would like a husband who will help me grow in my faith.
43, North Cowichan, CAHi I lead a wide and varied life. My faith gives me a bedrock to handle life's challenges and sense of gratitude for this amazing world. Interested in exploring the world through reading, travel and engaging with others. I really enjoy running, playing sports and conversation. Looking to meet someone for companionship and that wants to enjoy lifes many offerings. I am really easy going, positive and like to laugh. I like being out in nature, whether it be on top of a mountain or in a lake or river. I really enjoy trail running and do about two to three good runs a week. Also enjoy relaxing at home, barbecuing or making a nice meal with a glass of wine and I always have a book on the go. I do a lot of typical guy stuff: hockey, golf, dirt bike, mountain bike, fish, poker and also am involved in the community. I try and travel at least once a year to some cool out of the way place and do lots of local trips . I have been an operations superintendent at the Cowichan Valley Regional District for the last ten years and recently became a Canadian Forces Army Reservist as I was looking for a new challenge. I do have time and energy for a good relationship, don't play any games and am pretty much incapable of being disrespectful.
27, Victoria, CAI am a classical singer. This takes up copious amounts of my spare time. And I love every minute of it. I am a bookworm. Let me say that again. I am a bookworm. There are entire worlds within the covers of a book and I go explore when I can. I spend as much time with my friends as possible. I enjoy being outside, not specifically playing a sport 'cause they generally require hand-eye coordination and I have none. Believe me, I have tried enough different things to know it's not the specific activity.
29, Victoria, CAHi! I am passionate about my faith and sharing it with others. Outside of work and church I love hiking and being outdoors. I also enjoy reading and watching good movies.
57, Ladysmith, CAGod has given me higher calling. I am responding to that call and looking for discernment. Currently I volunteer are my daughters Catholic School and will be doing more in the fall I run a web forum 4 people with health issues
59, Zeballos, CAHi I Love the Pacific west coast, but I have rheumatoid arthritis and would be willing to relocate or partially, for the winter months. I am passionate about being kind and helpful.loving to those less fortunate( my friends are those who need me). I love nature, camping, fishing, hiking pristine beaches, art and live in a funky west coast style home and dislike people who think they are better than others. I have three dogs and three cats and prefer someone who knows what it is like to have had a difficult life.
32, Victoria, CAYou learn to speak by speaking, to study by studying, to run by running, to work by working, and just so, you learn to love by loving. All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves. -St. Francis de Sales I am a quiet, playful, woman who strives to live in a gracious, generous, giving way. I enjoy deep conversation, especially with effusive philosophical types, classical music, including Palestrina and Chopin, backpacking in the woods along the gorgeous West Coast, reading and rereading Jane Austin novels, and giggling at the hilarious antics of my seven nephews. I am blessed to be the mommy of a rambunctious six-year-old. It's such a thrill to experience life alongside a little boy... every puddle has the potential for an afternoon of muddy fun (the messier the better!) and there is no such thing as too many cookies. Balancing life as a single mom certainly has some challenges, but I love being a mother. I hope that God has a larger family planned for me one day. One of my dreams is to own a little acreage; a place to grow organic food, raise a caboodle of boisterous children, read great literature, think deeply, converse honestly, absorb as many sunsets as possible, and embrace a lifestyle steeped in Catholic culture. I am seeking adventure, commitment, sacrificial love, profound joy and a shared existence which is teaming with life, demanding, and richly rewarding.
26, Victoria, CAHi! So, a little about me: I'm a substitute teacher (I know, I know, but ladies, please, form an orderly line) for Catholic schools in Victoria. I just recently got my M.A. in English, and I studied both Catholicism and English in my undergrad. I own my home and have been living in Victoria for three years--I'm originally from Toronto. My faith is really important to me and I'm looking for someone who shares those values (I don't mean that I am looking for someone who agrees with me on every single thing--just that we share common ground in terms of what is important in life). Basically, God comes first in my life and I'm looking for someone who puts Him first as well. In my spare time, I love to read. And I really do mean that--I read a LOT. I play saxophone a little, piano (though I'm way out of practice) and I can sing a bit. I am also a big fan of old movies, especially film noir, so if you like that we'll have lots to talk about, and if you've never seen one, you'll be subjected to at least one. It's probably easier to get to know each other by actually talking, so we can see if we connect. God bless!
26, Victoria, CAFaith, Family, Fellowship - these are the top three things that I value in my life. I am a fairly joyful person who, although introverted, loves spending time with others in various activities. Faith: my faith has really shaped who I am and I don't know where I would be without it. Over the years I have been challenged in my faith in such a way that has made me sure of the truth of the Catholic Church. I know I am not perfect and that I sometimes struggle in my prayer life, but I know that God will never abandon me. Family: my family has truly been my rock (aside from Christ of course). Whenever I am struggling I know that they will be there to support me. Nothing like a dose of family fun to make me feel better ;) I hope that I may bring the joy and support that my family has brought me into the family that I create some day. Fellowship: this ties in closely with faith and family. My Catholic community has always felt like an extension of my family and having friends who will support me in my faith and keep me accountable, while also providing a solid, honest and open social life is very important to me. I've never been much of a leader (I tend to be a background worker/planner), so having friends who will take charge and decide what to do is great. I work as a pastry chef at a local brewpub. Although I don't have formal training I have worked my way up from dishwasher to pastry chef in a year which I am still amazed at (more details below). Some of my interests include reading, board games, movies and the occasional video game. During the past year I have started bouldering and it has become quite the hobby.
63, Victoria, CAWhen I started working on my social work degree in my forties, it felt like such a good fit and though the work has been challenging I have had a passion for it . I must admit I've become a bit more cynical about systems (apparently social work years are like dog years, 1 = 7). Family is very important to me, we make time for each other, share each others joys and challenges, support one another while respecting independence. Mass has become more important to me over the years. Praying, asking God questions and trying to listen to his plans for me, - all important aspects of my daily life. I think my husband was very influential in my life. He encouraged me to pursue a career when I didn't believe I had the parts to do it. My four children, who stretched me to the limit, showed me how to think beyond myself, taught me patience, endurance and stretched my heart giving me capacity for greater love. Leisure time? I've had some of the best times in my life snorkelling in warm waters, I enjoy traveling, walking my dogs in beautiful surroundings, I love working with my hands in my spare time, sewing, quilting, paper crafts, working on improving my home, gardening, I'm an avid reader. I enjoy activities with friends and family, walks, movies, dining in or trying a different restaurant now and again. I look forward to planning vacations, for myself, family, foster parents, co-workers - that is fun. I'm a bit of an expert on Disney Parks and Cruises and must confess I have a soft spot in my heart for The Mouse.
