I am a passionate teacher and academic. I care about making this world a better place, not only for my daughter but for the next generation of sons and daughters. I love writing, reading and engaging in deep theoretical conversations on religion, philosophy, metaphysics, politics and education. When I'm not being an 'academic' I love being outside, solitude with nature, spending time with my little one and gardening.

I am a very artsy and creative person and I love all the arts, especially music, drawing and painting, photography, movies, reading, poetry, theatre. I am a spiritual person and have a deep faith. I am idealistic but I am grounded. I always try to do the right thing. I have travelled extensively and have lived for extended periods of time in England, Texas, Arizona, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Haida Gwaii but I grew up in Vancouver. I enjoy working out in a gym and listening to music. I have been fortunate to have had teachers who have been very influential in my life.

I'm a Catholic atheist. Which means that I want to believe in God, but I can't. That being said, I'm probably more serious about this God I don't believe in than most Christians. It's like Dostoyevsky wrote somewhere: even if it was mathematically proven to me that Christ never existed, I would still prefer to be with Christ and not with truth. Another writer I admire, Miguel de Unamuno, wrote along these lines: it's understandable not to believe in God; it's understandable, although unnatural and inhuman, to resign to the fact that there is no God; but to be happy about it is the most wicked thing there is. I fully agree with him on this. I also don't understand those Christians who take their faith lightly. On another dating website, people listed their religion, and a lot of them wrote: "Catholic, but it's not important," "Christian, and laughing about it." If it's true that your best friend agreed to be tortured and executed in order to save you, how could you possibly laugh about it? And how can it be unimportant whether you would spend ETERNITY with God or in torment, or whether you would simply cease to exist? I think that if there is a God, then there is nothing more important in the world than our relationship with Him. That being said, I'm not "saved." So far, God and I, we're playing hide and seek... I also have a beautiful daughter. It was NOT an accidental pregnancy: I was trying to get pregnant for 3 years, ever since I was 18. It was probably a mortal sin, but I was ready to be in order to have her. Her name is Vera Maria Dolores, she is a month and a half, and she is vying with God for the most important place in my life. Finally, I must say that I'm NOT looking for sex. All indecent messages will be deleted and will guarantee that you will be ignored.

I love life for the great miraculous adventure that it is! I'm passionate about spirituality, adventures, learning, art (especially theatre), wellness and living an inspired life. My greatest joy in life is my visceral experience of God/The Great Mystery/Divine Love in my daily life. I am blessed with the most amazing family and a close knit group of kindhearted, fun and sincere friends. I also love gardening, volunteering, and outdoor activities especially camping & hiking through the rainforest here on Vancouver Island. In what seems like another lifetime my career was as a live performing arts producer in theatre and dance. After an intense health crisis (totally fine now!! Thank God!!) I was inspired to pursue my spiritual life more intentionally and actively. I'm currently working on a masters degree in theology with a special interest in Christian Mysticism and the lives of the saints. I find myself fascinated by the writings of mystics like Teresa of Avila, John of The Cross and the Early Church Fathers. I'm actively involved in charitable work, especially managing and building infrastructure for projects aimed at alleviating and supporting homeless people and refugee resettlement. I feel passionate about social justice and often attend conferences, listen to podcasts and attend community activities on humanist issues. There is nothing more fulfilling than the continuous process of self-emptying so I might become a clear channel for grace to move through me in service according to the will of The Divine.
