I’m a cradle Catholic (gaining a deeper understanding of our faith in the more recent years). I’m politically conservative and vote regularly. I’m number seven out of eight kids (4 brothers, 3 sisters). I really enjoy being outdoors and try to stay active, but I’m not as extreme about it as some people claim (I don’t think there’s any Eco-Challenge in my future). I do try to get in a few backpacking trips between May and Sept. (I actually got six trips in one year), and more recently, there’s some peaks that I REALLY feel the need to climb. I also love mountain biking and go when I can. I used to enjoy running, but my knees don’t enjoy that anymore so I gave that up (my profile photo is one of the few photos that I have of me and one of the last 10ks that I did). But I also love to relax on the porch and BBQ with some good tunes playing. Oh… and I come with my own tools. I still need a tablesaw and a few of the larger power tools, but I don’t have a garage yet. Some day…. I’m currently just another engineer in the Silicon Valley, but my plan is to eventually become a high school math teacher. I think it would be fun, plus, spending time with my nieces and nephews has given me a greater appreciation for tormenting teenagers. I’d also love to build my own house, eventually, with sinks that are up high enough that I don’t have to stoop over so much. But I told my niece that I’d wait until she’s an architect so she can design it.

I would describe myself as a person who has a passion for life and people. I have a close-knit family that has always been there for me and I for them. Many of my friends are people I grew up with or have known for years and they all mean a lot to me. If one of them had to describe me they would say I am very attractive, caring, kind, honest, funny, compassionate and energetic. When you first meet me I might be reserved and then my personality will come out as soon as you get to know me a little better. I love to meet new people and learn about who they are. A nice evening out for me would be to go to dinner or the movies. A nice day out for me is going for a hike, bike riding, a long walk, a ride to the beach, San Francisco, Carmel, Tahoe, and the list goes on. My other passion consists of traveling. I have been to a variety of places and would like to travel more in my future if time permits. In my career, I am a very hard worker that always achieves my goals, though my career is not the most important thing, but living a healthy and prosperous life is. Being the passionate soul I am, I think there is so much to explore in this world that if you bury yourself in work, it can keep you from experiencing what life has to offer.

Keeping it simple, I am a fun happy woman who likes to help others and always grateful with God for all his blessings. I truly believe that we come from Him and we will get back to Him. Mostly dedicated to my education and professional career I've also focused on growing my faith and developed spiritual life. I'm a family person who also enjoys time with friends and some other quiet time on my own.

I love life. I believe there is a big difference between getting up each morning and going to work, coming home, eating dinner, watching tv and doing the whole thing all over the next day versus being alive. I teach high school science and it is never the same from day to day. Even within a day there is always an opportunity to interact with my students and colleagues in a way which makes life better. I also love doing things outside. From biking, to hiking, to mountain climbing, rafting, and everything in between I love the feeling being active gives. There are few things which make me feel as content as being physically active. I am extremely grateful for being able to go out and do these sorts of activities. I really enjoy cooking as well, especially the creative side of being in a kitchen. Food needs to be healthy in order to maintain a healthy body, but there is no reason it can't taste good either. From spices and oils, to nuts and vegetables, to different meats and fruits, oh, and chocolate, the possibilities really are endless. I like taking adult education courses. Although I enjoy continually learning, between work and other interests going back to college, at least for the time being, doesn't really appeal to me. Adult education courses neatly fill my desire for learning. They're only a few weeks long, I can choose which courses to take, and there are no finals! Traveling is always fun and interesting. Be it day trips, trips to other parts of the country, or going abroad traveling is always fun and interesting. Between the history of a place, the food, and interacting with the people traveling is something I look forward to. Reading is something I don't seem to have as much time for as I want. However, when I do get a chance to read I enjoy literature, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as books which help me deepen my faith. Lastly, music, when I do listen to it, is something that I'll usually have on in the background. The style of which depends on what I am doing at the time. Pretty much the only music I don't like and pretty much won't listen to is hard core/thug rap and elevator music. Although I don't always live up to it, I do try to breathe to live life, not to simply exist.

Hello. I guess I'll get right to it...I am a smart funny lady who is looking for someone who can keep up with my silliness yet knows when to be serious. My faith is very important to myself and my family. I love spending time with friends and family. I believe laughter is the key to everything! I work hard and never take anything for granted. I love to travel and discover new places. Looking for someone to share experiences and laughter with. A few fun quotes "I believe that my life's gonna see the love I give returned to me" - Mayer .... And my favorite "you can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine" - Mraz. "I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list" I know these are not quotes from religious peeps but they do reflect me and how I live everyday!

Hi there, my name is Ilyssa. I was raised Catholic and continue to have a strong faith life. I am very family oriented and enjoy spending time with them. I'm a fun-loving and good-humored person who enjoys having a good time with good company. The beach is my place of serenity. I am very passionate about living an active lifestyle. I love all things athletic; weight training, calisthenics, strength and conditioning, basketball, running, hiking, snowboarding, and am open to trying new things, always. I have a love for traveling--each trip of mine has humbled me and allowed me to step out of my element. I am also very passionate about giving back to those less fortunate where I care for such communities in my career. I do also always make sure to make time to have fun and just enjoy life!

Hi! I'm passionate about my family and my friends. I'm the oldest of five and extremely close to my family. We are all fortunate to be all living in the Bay Area and see each other on a weekly basis. I'm thankful for my great network of friends who I've known for over 10+ years when most of us were single and now are family of 4. We still travel together. Imagine 25+ adults & kids in a house in Hawaii or Tahoe. I enjoy jogging and cycling. I just completed both the SJ RNR and the SF Nike Women Half Marathon with my 5 girlfriends. It's was fun training together. We also try to hike Mission Peak least 2-3x a month when we don't train for our races.

I never wanted someone to buy me roses... I wanted someone who would plan them, knowing I would be around when they blossom... One of the people that made me hold on to my faith is this priest that became my mentor and second father. It was a very hard time in my life and he was there to help me finish and accomplish my goal. The eyes is the door to ones soul. And through pictures this is captured and put into life. I love taking pictures...i love Photography and whenever I find time this is what I do during my liesure time.

Since retiring as a school psychologist I have enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, dancing, reading, spending time with family and friends, and getting regular exercise. Travel has become a passion of mine. I enjoy being busy; however, I am now able to spend more time contemplating life and it's true meaning. My favorite motto is "if you want to make God laugh, tell him of your future plans".

I m passionate about restorative and social justice. Silent retreats have been very influential in my life. They have helped me understand myself better and to increase passion for others who struggle with life demands. I look forward most to approaching tasks from a creative perspective/take a risk to think outside of the box. I enjoy learning from the conversations I have with others. I like to walk/hike/paint/garden/ read/attend lectures/cook in my leisure time.
