72, San Jose, CAMy education was a great gift to me. It taught me about God's generous love--giving me a realm of opportunity, beautiful children and healthy grandchildren. My early studies were in biology, aviation, and computers, reflected in my occupation. As children came along, I retired so that I could focus on them, while maintaining professional interests as a consultant. Later I returned to research. My time is mostly my own now that I have retired, but I keep an active interest in music and occasional writing. Always eager to expand my understanding, I continue to take classes through a range of interests. Activities in a few organizations allow me to broaden my horizons and contribute to society. Regarding exercise, I once participated in a half-marathon--mostly walking, some jogging--for the American Stroke Association. Although once was probably enough, I enjoy moderate exercise, including some tennis lately. Gentle meditation and prayer begin my day and see me through, while my deep gratitude to God quiets my concerns at the day's end. I am content to walk the way with Him--He keeps surprising me! My hope is that He is blessing you, too.
87, Milpitas, CAFirst off I need to update most of my pictures and will do so ASAP. My faith is important to me as well as my family. I attend mass weekly and was semi active in the church as a Eucharistic minister until i relocated a short time ago. I am not yet settled into a new parish. I am also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. God is my copilot. I let Him guide me through trying and difficult times. I was married for 58 years before my wife passed away. I will turn 87 in September 2016 but am not ready to throw in the towel. I have moved from my house to a senior living community. My reason was my house was old and in need of a number of repairs and my yard was pretty large and getting out of control. I am trustworthy, dependable, and generally a down to earth person (with my head occasionally in the clouds). I am basically a casual person and usually wear jeans and a t-shirt, but I will dress appropriately for whatever the occasion especially mass. I fall somewhere between an introvert and extrovert. I am somewhat adventurous, but not a daredevil. I am in good health for my age and reasonably active. I played softball twice a week with other seniors just for fun until I injured my knee last year (2013). I had knee replacement surgery in January 2014 and haven't played since. My interests are widely varied, some strong and others casual, and I enjoy discussing the interests of others. I have a very high regard for all wildlife and the natural world. I very much enjoy visiting natural monuments and places of historical interest. I also like to explore museums and quaint towns. I am seeking a compatible companion and friend for the present, someone who likes to eat out occasionally and when weather permits go on an occasional picnic or walk in a natural setting. Time and Our Father will tell us if our friendship should advance to a higher level. All that being said, I believe the only way to assess ones true character is meeting face to face.
63, Morgan Hill, CAI have had a most blessed life...with a wonderful upbringing and close family. Living in Europe at various times between the ages of 8 and 20, opened my eyes to people and cultures other than my own, with an appreciation of our global differences and similarities. A love for travel, photography and non-American cuisine developed from these experiences. I began working on my "bucket list" right around my 21st birthday and it continues today. Matthew 10:8 suggests that we give as a gift, that with which we have been given and I choose to seek out others to spend time with, who have similar desires. To share the rest of my earthly journey, joined by a God-given love with a man of a kindred spirit and heart would be the fulfillment of my deepest dreams. I am usually not at a loss for words, but this "profile" request is challenging. To show one's depth and breadth, w/out producing a "resume" type of approach in 2500 characters or less, is not an easy or particularly comfortable process but thank-you for your attention and time. I far prefer a two-sided conversation to this one-sided monologue.
82, San Jose, CAI'm writing a novel for evangelizing based on my past marriage; and a book on comparative religions . So, I spend almost all of my time reading / writing / doing physical exercises ...and going to church.. Younger looking (possibly up to about 20 years) and physically stronger than most men of my real age: So far, I've never been sick for more than 80 years.. Used to be a teacher of philosophy in Vietnam and a counselor in the U.S., I love deep thinking about meaning of existence / universe / life and social realities . But most of the time, I have responsibly enjoyed to their fullest all spiritual / mental / bodily gifts that are given / allowed by God. Our past marriage, not as much of human love as of strong Catholic Faith for both of us, was relatively happy and successful: we strove to support each other to reach nearer and nearer our ultimate common goal that is God. . All our 4 children, graduated from different US universities, have their own families with good professions, financial independence. Among our 3 daughters-in-laws: 2 are Vietnamese; 1 Japanese; and we have 1 Philippine son-in-law. Thanks to God, all our children's families are practical catholic. As of 2014, we have 4 good looking grand-sons and 1 charming grand-daughter. Though only on social security and pension (Cal-PERS: California Public Employee Retirement System) I'm financially independent, and that retirement fund might hopefully be enough to cover my life-partner-to-be too, if we would agree to live only decently (= no gambling, no drinking , no smoking, no sex-clubbing, etc. ...). ..
62, San Jose, CAI'm an emotional person. Like to be with the people I care most like family. I don't look on ones appearance only but most in his inner character,. I like having good fun with friends like dancing singing watching tv or movies, outing or just walking . Like to go malling too. To know me is the best to learn to love me.
70, Santa Clara, CABeing Catholic, I'm sure, helped me to be an honest and helpful person. I like California, the great weather and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Having raised my kids here and gone thru life's ups and downs, I'm still an easygoing guy. I'm comfortable at home and also enjoy getting out locally exploring new places. Haven't traveled much lately but have visited several places in the US. Friendly, helpful, honest, clean, and a good listener, describe me pretty well. I enjoy listening to oldies, going out to restaurants, getting together with relatives, and fixing things around the house. Other times, I like going out to a good movie or watching one at home. I read mostly articles I see in magazines or on the computer. I enjoy the morning air, walking my dog, having a nice day in the park, keeping up on technology and learning new things. I like dogs but cats, not so much. I have a good sense of humor and like others who have the same.
69, San Jose, CAMy daughter says that I'm goofy, full of energy, funny, fun to be around and her pride and joy. She might be a little biased, however. Despite my young age, I am still very active. I exercise daily, and like to keep myself busy. Of course, I enjoy my down time too. I enjoy traveling to places that I've never been to. I've traveled a bit so far, but look forward to being adventurous and traveling more! (Who doesn't, right?) I enjoy keeping in touch with long time friends. I am passionate about cooking, and take pride in it. It's also very good, so that's always a bonus. I hope you're hungry! And on special occasions, when I let my daughter take me, I enjoy going out to eat. I moved to San Jose in February of this last year, from Phoenix, Arizona. I lived in Phoenix for 19 years. I lived in San Diego, California prior to Phoenix, for 16 years. Before San Diego, I lived in Oklahoma for 1 year. Before the USA, I worked and lived in the United Kingdom as a Nursing Assistant for 7 years. I'm originally from Manila, Philippines. I do travel back home to the Philippines to see friend and family as often as I can.
63, San Jose, CAFamily, food, religion and friends and not necessarily in that order. Being in tune with my friends' and family's needs within a kind and Christian perspective is very important to me. Food, well I love good food, all types and am willing to try anything at least once. Keeping our minds focused and fresh through mind stimulation (i.e. work, outside interests, community service, etc.) and physical exercise is also a priority to me.
61, San Jose, CAI am honest, compassionate, sincere and hardworking and I expect same from a man. My Christian values and my family are my greatest treasures. I enjoy staying at home with my grandsons and oftentimes go to the malls. Watching movies and concerts are wholesome and enjoyable.
63, Los Altos, CAI am a retired health professional who loves to be creative, travel, spend quality time with family and dog, and stay fit. I have been divorced (did not marry through Catholic Church) for a long time. Work and raising a son kept me busy but I think that I am now ready to explore a romantic relationship. I am loyal, silly, and funny at times. I am passionate for the outdoors. I enjoy painting, dancing, flea markets, making jewelry. Not much for drinking or the party scene.
64, San Jose, CAI love writing poetry, and I am an avid reader. I look forward going to Starbucks on Sunday mornings with my toy poodle; this is the time I set aside for just us. I enjoy spending time with my friends and I like to shop especially this time of year even if it's just window shopping. I am thankful and fortunate for all the good things in my life and never take one day for granted. I keep a positive attitude and try to always make the best out of a not so good situation. Everyday life can sometimes be challenging but there is always a new tomorrow, a new beginning, and maybe a wonderful surprise just waiting around the bend !!! The saying, Experience Is The Best Teacher is "golden" and I am a better person for all I've encountered in life, thus far. I don't dwell on the past and live in the present; enjoying each day. Stay safe and healthy and I pray you have a reason to smile each day!!!!!
