36, Santa Rosa, CAI am a fun easy going person who can enjoy himself in pretty much any situation. I like being active, working out and creating new adventures. I also enjoying relaxing at home from time to time and watching a good movie on the couch or hanging out with friends. I'm a caring person who likes listening as much as talking, and respects someone for who they truly are and not for what they feel they have to be. Life is full of choices, and there can be many "what if's?," but I would rather take a chance at something than wonder what could have been. What about you? I'm the type of guy who will open the door for you. If we are at a resturant and my food comes before yours, I'll wait. I'm just going to come out and say it that I am an old fashioned guy. I want to respect so that I can earn your respect back. I'm a very humble man. I understand that there's a time to give and be loving and understanding. I also believe in standing up for what I believe and not being walked on. I'm always there for my friends and loved ones. I don't run from adversity. I care what people think of me because I believe in being the best man I can be. I want people who come across me to think "hey what a cool guy". It's not about attention for me. It's about the importance of one's own honor and respect for those around him. Do you have a "What if?" of your own you would like to share with me?
46, Sebastopol, CAI am . . . energetic, positive, adventureous, friendly, kind and patient. My faith and family are very important to me. People describe me as full of life and energetic. Years back, I decided to tackle a renovation project for my parents by fixing up some rental houses they own. It was challenging and rewarding to see the houses transformed. I love to (flower) garden because it allows me to express my creativity and beautify my surroundings. I strive to think of others and be a good daughter, sister, & friend. I consider myself to be empathetic and compassionate. I try to count my blessings each day. I'm patient, except when someone cuts me off in traffic. Someone gave me a license plate frame which states I drive as fast as my angel can fly. As my family says, I don't doddle. If I set a goal for myself I expect results. If that involves some hard work, sweat and tears, then okay. I consider myself passionate about things that matter to me. My love of history, family and problem solving has lead me to do work on developing the family tree on my Italian side of the family. I've has been fascinating but also fustrating when I can't figure out the link to the next generation. My next project is to learn Italian so I can visit the places I've been researching. I believe everything I have is a gift from God. Each day I try to use by gifts and talents to improve situations and lives. If at the end of the day I haven't done somthing I feel like I wasted my day.

21, Napa, CAI am a full time college student currently working towards a BS in Kinesiology at HSU. I enjoy a good outdoor activity just as much as staying in. I am very passionate about the medical and education fields. In the future I hope to be a physical education teacher and eventually work my way into becoming a physical therapist. My family is very important to me and the reason why my faith is so important to me. Some of my hobbies are cooking, reading, playing games and dancing. I used to do collegiate ballroom dance but transferred to a school without a team.
60, Napa, CAThis is always the hard part but I will do my best. I am a single Catholic woman that enjoys going to the gym and staying in shape. I also enjoy the beach, movies and visiting new places. However, after a long day I enjoy being at home and watching tv. I also enjoying visiting my son and his family. I am still working full time as a social worker but have thought of retiring. My son and I have rentals so we sometime spend time fixing the places up when needed. At this time in my life I would like to share my life with a man that share my same values and belief in God.
37, Napa, CAI grew up poor with a bunch of brothers and sisters bouncing around the Midwest and ending up in California for middle and high school. I went to West Point and graduated in 2001. For the next two years I studied in Edinburgh, Scotland as a Marshall Scholar. I then fought as an infantry officer in Afghanistan and Iraq. I left the Army in late 2008 and since then have lived in Alaska and California. I don't know at what point my mind started to betray me but the bottom line is that the VA currently classifies me as 100% disabled. Their official diagnosis is "PTSD with Mood Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified." PTSD basically turns a house cat into a feral cat; Mood Disorder NOS seems a lot like bi-polar disorder. I have had four manic episodes, mania being a nice way of saying insanity. These episodes tend to last a few months and result in me being locked up in mental hospitals or the county jail charged with minor misdemeanors for things I've yelled while walking down the middle of the street. I've never been violent while manic, but the wars come screaming back and I say loud and angry things which, in my delusional mind pertain to or describe the wars, but which a lot of people find terrifying and threatening. Whatever else "PTSD with Mood Disorder NOS" might be, the threat that mania might return is by far the biggest stumbling block in my mind to ever getting married or finding a place in a consecrated religious life. As a bit of extraordinary suffering, mental illness sometimes seems to me to be a blessing. It has certainly humbled me. It also has provided me with a livable pension and the associated upside of a lot of free time, which could be a significant plus if I ever get lucky enough to raise children.
72, St Helena, CAI look forward to new experiences (location, people, food, cultures) through travel. I like to hike, garden, snowshoe and sing. My family and friends are very important to me. Before retirement, my work was my other passionate. I worked in cancer surveillance and continue to be in contact with my former colleagues. I continue to grow spiritually through daily meditation, participate in parish activities and pilgrimages. I am avid in trying to keep a healthy lifestyle through exercise, diet and drinking alcohol in moderation. I travel to learn as well as to visit friends and family.
38, Petaluma, CAI am most passionate about taking on new adventures, both large and small - whether it is going on a wilderness survival trip, skiing a tough mountain, cooking an exotic dish, reading a new genre, or accepting a friendly dare. Not only do I enjoy the thrill of trying new things, but I also find that these challenges help me learn more about myself and others. During the winter, I am an avid skiier and spend most weekends on the slopes at Tahoe. In the summer, my dogs and I are constantly searching for new hiking / mountain biking trails. And, of course, I spend a lot of my free time hanging out with my friends and family.
69, Napa, CAI am a 5th generation Californian ending a career in the law. A graduate of Notre Dame, I have 3 adult offspring who are close to me but who live out of state. All are financially independent, as am I. At present I divide my time between Northern California and the Yucatan. In the next few decades of my life I plan to fulfill a long held dream of creating a non-profit which will export into 3rd and 4th world countries some of the vast reserve of talent, treasure and goodwill that exists in the lives of American Catholics, especially those who formed during their social consciences in the 60s and 70s. The geographic center of my soul just might be the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. Last year I read Masters of War, a history of the US in Latin America, David Brooks' the Road to Character, A History of Indigenous People's of America, The Season of the Witch, and Paul Ellie's work "The life you save might be your own" about Flannery O'Conner, Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, and Walker Percy. My politics are left/center; my heroes tend to be creative souls who recognize we humans are alive as part of a continuum of forces in the universe which we can either advance toward the beloved community or retard by our nonchalance. I love to eat, drink (moderately) and be merry. As a former university level athlete, my recreation tends toward the athletic, but I also play classical piano, and enjoy festive meals with friends in great conversation. I am blessed with a large and interesting family, and have been lucky to have traveled extensively, both domestically and abroad
