48, Encinitas, CAI grew up elsewhere (overseas and East Coast), went to school here 'n' there, and eventually settled in San Diego -- a dangerous place to live (it's been said a young person can go to the beach, take a nap, and wake up to find they're 60..). I'm a graphic artist by trade, though frequently daydream on the job (about bigger audiences and better stories). Art, history, music, nature, people, sport and travel are some of my interests. I enjoy being physically active. I'm social, good-natured, considerate, self-aware. More often than not I put the needs/wants of others before my own. I consider myself very open-minded ...so naturally, the more I see, hear and experience, the more old-fashioned I become. To some extent, I march to a dif'rent drummer. My humor tends to be on the dry side, though I'm no stranger to slapstick. I am not averse to making a fool of myself for the right cause or reason, and I've no problem whatsoever admitting when I'm wrong. Things that make me feel awkward: vagrants, public speaking, and being indebted to someone. Perhaps my biggest fear is that, when all is said and done, God is going to ask: What have you done with the talent I gave you? and I'll just stand there, mouth agape, speechless... So I'm continually working on the answer, striving to live as profound and meaningful a life as possible. One that, at its best, imparts a bit of grace on the world around me and affords some sense of accomplishment/satisfaction. The basic formula: equal parts hard work, integrity, love and laughter. "Working on the answer" is also what brings me here...
53, Encinitas, CAHi! I have a rich life but looking for the right woman to settle down and share it with. Can be serious when I have to be, but really enjoy the playful side of life much more. ;-) I have a fairly loud laugh and I think I'm fairly funny--we'll let you decide that one. Active in the Church through Cursillo and Whispering Winds (a lay Catholic Camp in the mountains of San Diego). I believe our faith is meant to be lived and shared with others. I enjoy being outdoors. My career is related to the outdoors--I'm a landscape architect. I'm also a successful small business owner. Completed my first sprint distance triathlon in 2006. Finished my first half marathon in Jan 2009 in Carlsbad, starting to train to do some more sprint triathlons spring 2016. I enjoy cooking for friends and family, and enjoy a fine wine from time to time. I love to travel, photography, baking at Christmas time, gardening and growing veggies and roses. I also treasure my nine godchildren---YES (9)--five of them are nieces and nephews. :-) Never been married (no kids of my own). A favorite quote: "May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for every one of us.".........Mother Teresa

52, Encinitas, CAA great life, evolving into an extraordinary life. I am quite conservative/traditional regarding my personal life and my religion; but externally I am quite liberal and inclusive of others that are different than me. Through life experiences and having the good fortune to have close friends of many faiths and backgrounds, I find that there are many people who lead Christ-like lives although they may follow different faiths or no faith at all. I try to be a good representative of my Catholic faith, believing that our religion is not only Catholic with a capital "C", but also catholic, or universal, with a lower case "c". I have worked hard for my education and my career, and I have been fortunate to be successful and happy in what I do. I really enjoy spending time with my family and we are very close. I love animals (dogs), cooking, traveling and good wine. In addition to working and teaching at a university, I also take classes for fun and to meet others with similar interests. Although I have always wanted a family of my own, I have not found the right person with whom to share my life. I have been skeptical of online match sites, but felt this one may offer more opportunity to meet like-minded people with shared goals, interests and beliefs.
