I was born and raised in New Jersey in a family of 9 children. I am the 2nd oldest so I helped take care of all of my younger brothers and sisters. I still have a very close relationship with all of my siblings although we currently live in different states. I married my high school sweetheart in 1978 and we were married for 37 years when he passed away in 2015 after a 6 year battle with cancer. We had a great life and raised 3 beautiful daughters together. Widowed for 2 years now, I've felt it's time to get out into the dating world and see what adventures lie ahead. My Catholic faith is very important to me and I decided to engage in so I could meet a man who is as focused on his faith as I am. I have a very positive attitude about life and am very thankful for all of my blessings. I have a close relationship with our Lord and that has gotten me through many of life's adversities. My life has always been about love - love for God, love for my family, love for my friends and love for my business.

My faith in God, my love of family, my loyalty to country define who I am. I can not think of anyone with the exception of my wife who taught me more about the virtues of faith, hope, love and compassion than she did. I enjoy the camaraderie that good friends bring no matter what the occasion. I enjoy sharing with someone, engaging in small talk, and just being close. I enjoy my quiet time in which to reflect, reminisce and pray. I love to ski in the winter and golf in the summer. I have been playing for over forty years and haven't broken a hundred yet. I don't even keep score. I just enjoy the game. Physical fitness is a passion. I try to work out three or four times a week. I write short stories in the evening when I have the time. Nothing published, just a hobby. I have an extensive DVD/VHS library that I watch, which includes everything from drama, to comedy and westerns and military history. No sci-fi. However, there are exceptions. I am an avid reader and a self proclaimed book-worm.

I have traveled the Western US as well as the western provinces of Canada extensively. Most of that travel involved RVing and camping, which I still hope to continue. Currently I spend a great deal of time fishing at areas near my home. I always have one or more books I'm reading--usually fiction. Doing the daily Sudokos and crossword puzzles help keep my mind in what I call the " middle/old age" phase. I greatly enjoy outdoor concerts, festivals and watching sporting events either on TV or in person. Golf has consumed way more of my life than perhaps any other activity although I'm just now trying to get back to it. My loving wife of 57 years was by far the most influential person significant in shaping my adult life. As a high school student I maintained friendships with several of the priests who taught in the high school I attended. Their influence molded me into a "Catholic for life"![?] I retired from a position in education in 1992. Since then I've been splitting time between an Arizona winter home and a summer residence in Colorado. My dear wife developed Alzheimer's seven years ago. Due to her fairly recent death I've gone from being a 24/7 caregiver to currently unemployed. I feel I'm coping fairly well with my mourning process, but as expected I have those occasional lapses of sadness or perhaps better stated, despair. God has blessed me with a tremendous array of loving family relationships. I've been equally blessed with relatively good/great health although I am the proud owner of four phony joints. I don't consume alcoholic beverages, but I don't mind others who enjoy social drinking. I do however find smoking irritating at best and unacceptable at worst! I think I tell way too many " fascinating" stories about happenings in my life--some of which are actually true![?] A priest friend from my youth always reminded me to"Keep The Faith" -- consequently I encourage you to do so also!

I am very passionate about my kids, grandkids, friends and my dogs. I train and show Giant Schnauzers and hope to continue as long as I can. Traveling is important and I have seen a lot of the world - love to cruise at this stage of my life. Enjoy being a snowbird as I think my snow shovel is about worn out. Summers in Colorado - I consider myself a mountain woman and work hard to maintain my mountain property. Of course, when the temps drop I pack up my animals and head south. Not a bad way to live. Thank God I am still healthy and active. Love to hike, bike (in Florida now) groom my dogs and do maintenance projects around the property. Haven't golfed much in the last few years but plan on getting back into it. Would love to share all this fun with someone. Lots of folks have influenced me and when you get to know me I will tell you all about them.
