I'm a proud Mom of two wonderful young men and an active, outdoors loving professional woman. I enjoy all aspects of my life including my family, my friends, and the career that recently brought me to Colorado. When I lost my husband several years ago I placed my priority on raising my two sons and making a solid home life for them. Now that they're on their own I'm ready to seek new friends, and perhaps meet that special man to share my enjoyment of the outdoors, good movies, and visiting new places. My interests include learning about different cultures; traveling to places I've never been before and meeting people who are different from me; reading about western history; visiting historical sites and museums; and outdoor activities including camping, hiking, snow skiing, snow shoeing, etc. I enjoy settling down in the evening with a glass of wine or an interesting beer, and a good book, a fun TV program, or a good movie. I have a very rewarding career that has offered me many interesting opportunities and experiences. I still enjoy it very much but am ready to gather even more enjoyment from other aspects of life, including spending more time with friends and building a meaningful relationship with the right man.

That multiple choice part was killer, and now an essay exam to boot! I almost cancelled. St. Raphael, help me out here! Well, OK, just a few things the multiple choice part did not cover... . I live a good and happy life in this beautiful corner of the world. My faith, family, friends and career all give me a lot to be thankful for. Still, the right companion would make it even more perfect. Its important to find someone with shared values and I thought Catholic Match would winnow the field quite a bit. I suppose you felt the same way. Good qualities? I'm honest, trustworthy, and independent. Easy going. I make a good and faithful companion. Vices? Well, there was the time I... . And then... . Enough of that part. I'd say that I'm a Town & Country kind of guy - I enjoy the mountains, prairies, wilderness, wildlife, dogs, skiing, but also enjoy some "city" things too, such as dining, music, shows. Travel too, especially to great fly-fishing desinations. Maybe other places too, it depends. Italy is next on my list. You can definitely cross Afganistan off my Bucket List. Whew! And after all those activites I'll need some rest and relaxation.
  • Mark, 65 from Golden, CO
    65, Golden, CO
My professional background is in environmental work and energy related research. That keeps me pretty busy a lot of the time. When I'm not busy at work I enjoy travelling and keeping my relaxation time kind of simple when possible. Some of the things I like to do include hiking, checking out new places to eat and watching the stars on clear nights.

  • Ian, 26 from Golden, CO
    26, Golden, CO
My name is Ian and I'm from Golden, Colorado. I'm an alumni of Benedictine College I'm quite reserved at first but once getting to know people or events I warm up and can talk about things. Even though I'm reserved, my friends say I'm outgoing since I know everyone. I'm not a naturally born leader but friends and family say that I'm a leader by example in my actions. In my spare time I enjoy watching TV, staying up to date with current events, writing, reading, video games, photography and video, and having an active lifestyle.

Single since 2008, a spunky, well-traveled, 53 year old professor with a 4th grade, Parochial-schooled daughter. Her daddy and I remain good friends. My favorite activities: I like college hoops, some football, and widget sports. I like hiking, fishing, anything outdoors, any sort of travel: USA, Europe, hiking, or a swanky restaurant. Good books, antiquing, visiting with friends. I like to paint, and resolve to do so more often. Did I mention college hoops? I believe with the faith of a child. I want a knight on a white horse whose mother taught him to open doors, ask a lady on a real date (and expect to pay for everything on said date), and appreciate the feminine qualities of nourishing, nurturing, homemaking, service, and lifting up her husband in his role as the head of the household. His father and wise and well-chosen male mentors must have taught him to respect others, have a firm handshake, that a promise is a man's word is a contract, and that life is not fair in man's opinion but it is in God's. I believe Oreos count as a vegetable. Many women say, "I don't need a man - I can do it myself." I say they are wrong, and a woman who wants to be in charge of a couple's relationship is out of step with reality. Maybe because of the women's lib movement in the 60's or because greed has warped our brains, but our society has justified belittling men and their rightful roles in this world. What a shame - as the pendulum of equality has swung too far. I don't need to be taken care of; I want to be. I wish with all my heart to be cared for by a wonderful man who believes it is his duty, as the head of the household, to be the primary provider and leader -- not because I am inadequate, but because he is adequate and I trust his judgment. In return I will take good care of him.

  • Andrew, 21 from Golden, CO
    21, Golden, CO
I'm passionate about a lot of things. I want to be a Film Director and create Motion Pictures. I really enjoy all of the aspects of creating a film and I want that to be my career someday. I also have a passion for High Performance cars. My parents and a couple of priests have been some of the most influential people in my life. And in my free time I enjoy doing everything. I really like reading and watching movies, having a great time with friends or just grabbing coffee. I keep trying to grow closer to God every day.
  • Randall, 59 from Golden, CO
    59, Golden, CO
Faith and my personal relationship and worship of God is vitally important. Family and family time is also essential. A family should attend mass together and maintain an active prayer life. Human life must be protected and respected. I strongly believe in love, loyalty and commitment. God expects the man to honor the woman and keep her first and protected at all times. I enjoy hiking, running, nature, picnics, sports, travel, theatre, dining and museums. My Aunt Dorothy and several teaches were the most influential people in my life.
  • Emily, 32 from Golden, CO
    32, Golden, CO
Hello! My name is Emily. I have a bit of a book obsession, constant wanderlust, and a Golden Retriever who often channels the Cowardly Lion. I'm originally from California, but have lived in Colorado most of my life and love it here. There's just something about the mountains and plains that just makes the soul sing. I have a Bachelor's degree in music and a Master's degree in library science, both of which are currently being put to use. I work at an academic library and cantor at my parish a couple times a month. My dream is to write a book and have it published (working on it), as well as live on some land one day where I can have some chickens, a couple goats, and explore (and hopefully cure) my ability to kill plants at 20 paces (I'm telling you, they hate me. You can practically hear the screams when I stop to browse the ones for sale at Trader Joes.) My family is an important part of my life, especially my three, younger siblings. We often spend time together, although not nearly as much as we'd like. One of the downsides of adulthood. I'm fortunate in that most of my immediate family lives around here, but try to go back to California at least once a year to visit my grandparents, aunts and uncles. And...I am drawing a blank about what else to say, so I think I'll leave it at that for now. If there's anything else you'd like to know, just tell me. Please feel free to say "hi!"
