I was born and raised in Queens New York, and went to school in upstate New York before moving down to the DC metro area. I'm pretty close with my family (Mom, Dad, two sisters and relatives) who still live in New York. I am not a super religious person, but I do live by Christian virtues everyday. Hmm, about me.... I am an upbeat person, who loves to have a good time, learn new things and explore. I enjoy hanging out with friends, meeting people, going to various events in the city, watching movies, traveling, playing sports, working out, running, cycling and sitting at home listening to music (sometimes I can be a homebody). I'm currently learning classical guitar and I am heavy into photography. Things I would like to do in the near future: Find organizations around town to volunteer with, freshen up my language skills in French and Spanish... People tend to view me as: Easy going, nice, fun to be around, a loyal friend, honest, sweet, and funny...

First, I have to say I'm not African (far too many have asked where in Africa I'm from). I've visited about 16 countries tho. I don't live the life of a rock-star or famous athlete; but I'm sure there are many who wish they had the laid-back and relaxed life I live. Occasionally, I get to rub shoulders with them, but that's because of work. I really dig my family, and am sad they don't live closer; I love playing/watching/talking about futbol (I'm suffering from World Cup withdrawals already), tennis, and rugby. I was born and raised in the South, and learned a lot from my wise Grandma (she gave this Earth 95 years before the Lord brought her home)...I am blessed to have spent 36 years knowing her and learning from her. I think my friends would say I'm pretty even keeled; I think most people say Type As or Apha Dogs, but I think those guys burn out fast, whereas a guy like me still burns. If you completely dig the late-bars and clubs then, perhaps Mr. Alpha is your best bet, because that's not really my scene -- but I do love to shake my booty on the dance floor! I'm now looking for a genuine relationship, but I'm not looking to jump into anything without getting to know someone first. Friends first, OK? I appreciate you taking the time out of your active life to read this message. And I hope to hear back from you :-) Cheers, R.

I would like someone to share my life with. I think life is always more interesting when shared. I love volunteering in my community. I have three main organizations that I like to focus my attention on but am always open to other experiences or causes. I've always loved Mother Teresa and Bernadette of Lourdes. They were selfless in how they helped others and two individuals that I look up to. In my leisure time I enjoy playing with my cat spike, spending time with my mom, reading articles on the internet, reading books, or watching tv.

I have a t-shirt that paraphrases Roman's 8:16 and reads "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are *spiritual beings* having a human experience." Some days, I do a better job of being that spiritual being than others, but it reminds me of who we are or should keep aspiring to be. I am passionate about social justice issues and volunteer for a youth-development non-profit in D.C. that is very close to me. I enjoy a good book, football/soccer match, wine-tasting, and taking in local cultural events.

The first thing to know about me is that I'm not very good at writing online profiles LOL. I love my family! I enjoy being outdoors in nature and reading. I am a fun, goofy, yet laid back kind of girl. My journey in faith is my highest priority. I moonlight as an Airman in the Air Force.

I truly enjoy my life and I'm looking for a man who also has a pleasant disposition and a positive outlook on life. I'd describe myself as having traditional values with a progressive outlook, and an easy-going nature. I'm a Midwesterner, and relocated to DC almost three years ago. My hobbies and interests vary, but I'm open to trying new experiences. Living in DC gives me wonderful opportunities to do many of the things I love, such as going to museums and galleries, concerts (preferably smaller, intimate venues), embassy tours, restaurants and lounges, sporting events (although I'll always be a fan of the Chiefs and the Royals!), shopping and spending time with distant family members with whom I've become acquainted since I relocated. It would be great to find someone to share these things with, and who would share his life with me. Equally important is someone who has the time to cultivate a relationship. Everybody's busy nowadays, me included, but I've always believed that we make time for the things we really want to do.

Hi! I'm a recent convert to the Catholic Church and I'm passionate about helping people and loving God by loving others. Family is really important to me, and I love each member of mine dearly. Looking to meet a nice guy who doesn't mind going out for dancing or karaoke every once in a while. I'm part of a lay Catholic community called the Community of Sant'Egidio, whose core values center around Prayer, Friendship with the Poor, and Peacebuilding, three things that are central to my faith. I'm also a librarian who enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and occasionally going out for karaoke. :-)

I am originally from the DC area and aside from four years in Massachusetts, I've lived here my whole life. I live in Logan Circle, but you can frequently find me hanging out in Shaw/Bloomingdale. I also really enjoy any time I can get away from the city and visit quieter areas. I love to go hiking and allow my senses to be filled with the gentle sounds of the forest. When I'm not hiking or going for long walks, I enjoy flipping through The New Yorker for the cartoons and poetry. At 32, I still purposely step on crunchy leaves. I guess I could be considered an outgoing introvert as I'm an introvert who has short bursts of extrovert energy. Honest, loyal, silly and goofy could also be used to describe me-- especially goofy after a touch too much of red wine and being surrounded by my close friends. I also enjoy movies and game nights with friends.

Hi I am a London by birth, and still relatively new to D.C. I work in the international civil service and have lived all over the world but finally want to put some roots down somewhere, I am love about my work which is largely about poverty reduction but at the same time my main passion is photography and finding ways to document or capture the beauty of every day life. I am a big music lover, all genres old and new and love to watch bands play live and try to do this as often as I can.
