I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, and I grew up in a solid, Catholic, family environment. It's an integral part of who I am and what I look for in others. It's the preferred basis, to one degree or another, for all of my relationships. I have what amounts to what I believe is a simple faith, growing day by day; but my friends would say I'm a pretty strong Catholic. I enjoy being around others who are strong and lead in their faith: it's inspiring, and it continually encourages me to be something more. My friends would also say I'm a good, conservative, principles oriented, fun loving, "southern gentleman" who is spontaneous and adventurous and knows how to have a good time, yet keep it all within reason, for the most part!

ABOUT ME: I'm an attorney whose passion is a film institute (Washington Film Institute) I started on the side a few years ago. The institute puts on regular screenings, offers workshops, and sponsors a film festival. I believe in the power of film to change the world. In terms of my personality / lifestyle: I'm super extroverted and social and really dig going out frequently to art openings, film premieres, embassy events, and lectures. I get truly energized by meeting new people and by being exposed to new ideas. Although not a health nut, I try to eat organic and get to the gym 4 days a week. John

I want to build a relationship on the strongest foundation possible, that is: Jesus Christ and His Church. I value friendship, community, and honesty. I am passionate about people. In my work, I am part of a team of professionals at the national level who aid refugees arriving to the U.S. through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. I am also involved in other ministry/apostolic work as a volunteer. Work is important to me, and I love my job, but I really value my time away from work. When my often-heavy work travel allows, I like to cook in my cozy DC Capitol Hill apartment. Other fun stuff: I'm into Pilates, tai chi, cloud-watching, star-gazing, getting a massage (every few months), talk radio, museum visits (the National Portrait Gallery is a hidden gem), and the movies. I enjoy baseball games too, and I am a devoted Yankees fan. I've been in DC for about six years (time flies), but I enjoy visiting friends in Chicago. And I'm an accomplished traveler.

7/16 UPDATE: I'm living in Baltimore now. I'm constantly working on improving myself, learning new things, and enjoying the journey. My faith is extremely important and I love having that gift. I do a lot of sporty things, like running and entering year two of doing CrossFit. I enjoy the arts, in all their forms. I got a great family, even better extended family I have here in DC. Good luck in your search!

Happy St. Thomas Aquinas day! * "You've written well of me, Thomas. What do you want as your reward? Nothing but you, Lord." * "Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart." Ps. 119:111 One of my favorite Bible verses is that Jesus is "the Way, the Truth and the Life". :) Thinking along these lines simplifies how I live my life. If this helps at all, I am a "city girl with an old-fashioned heart"... I have lived most of my life in cities, including New York City, and now, I'm in the Washington, DC area - but, I have always viewed myself as a simple lady, who likes the small town-suburban environment, and countryside landscapes, too. Who am I? I am a God-fearing woman... Loving... values relationships... Family-oriented... Intelligent... sincere... compassionate... Funny... generous... lovely... simple... kind... bubbly... adventurous... likes to try new things... Pro-life... Nature-lover... likes the mountains, trees, flowers, waters, beaches, lakes, rivers, creeks ;) ... Prefers warm weather... dreamer... idealistic... likes to watch movies... likes traveling... global person... Life-long learner... Theology of the Body... singing... dancing... 80s and 90s music... likes reading... literature... history... museums... concerts... and much more!;) "Man can fully discover his true self only in the sincere giving of himself." ~St. John Paul II Thank you for reading, and God love you! + ;)

What is there to say about me? I'm an old-fashioned guy who likes to have fun and try new things. I'm very outspoken and don't hesitate to say what I'm thinking ... This usually doesn't make for the best first impression, but people eventually come to find that I'm a pretty amicable guy. I have very strong opinions about many things, and respect other people who do, even if we disagree. I'm hoping to find someone who can hold their own and challenge me to be a better man. If you want to know more, don't hesitate to contact me!

Thanks, and best of luck to all in their searches. I have recently re-relocated back to Washington, DC after spending the past two and one-half years living in Savannah, helping take care of my niece and nephew in the wake of their parents' (my brother and his now-ex wife) divorce. Sadly the reason I have been able to come back to DC and resume my regularly scheduled life, already in progress, is because my father died in December 2014. In the aftermath of his death, my mother decided to relocate permanently to Savannah, freeing me up to return to DC. We are as a family still very much in trial-and-error mode, so if I need to return to Savannah as my mother ages, I will. But for the time being, I am grateful to be home. I love to cook and am really interested in "slow food" and the farm-to-table approach to eating. I took that for granted until recently -- I think people my age were among the last generation (in the West, anyway) to grow up eating real food. It has only been since I have started helping to raise my niece and nephew that my eyes have been open to the reality that most children today honestly have no idea what real food tastes like, or about the importance of shared meals. I also like exercising), hanging out with my dog,the performing arts, music, day trips, the beach, the mountains, the usual stuff. I am a serious reader, but a non-serious one too. The Summa is on my nightstand, but there's chick lit in the beach bag, too.

Hi there. I'm a DC native and yet a transplant, I'm the guy who can fit into almost any type of crowd from a dive bar to the governor's mansion. I have a ton of acquaintances but only a small group of really close friends, and almost none of them are Catholic. I believe the best relationships start as friendships, so here I am on CM. A no-nonsense, no-drama guy, I work to live, not the other way around. That said, I love my main job and my side business and I've done everything required to get where I am, including working non-traditional hours and workdays. I can be serious and sentimental when it's necessary, but most of the time I am trying to make people laugh. I am a huge fan of craft beers and I try to support the areas' brewpubs, but a mass produced American pilsner will also do just fine. In my opinion, in Washington we have a critical shortage of mom-and-pop coffee shops, New York style pizza, and there's not enough Tex-Mex around here. Since I lived many years in NJ and PA, I'm Phillies and Eagles for life. Wizards and Caps are okay by me, though. Music is my life and it runs the gamut: listening to it near constantly, singing, karaoke, DJing, etc. I simply can't imagine life without music.

I am a pretty quiet, laid back guy. I like to go out sometimes, but I am the kind of person who likes to relax at home with a friend or two watching TV and making stupid jokes. I am very close to my parents and my sister, and we regularly make trips to see each other even though we're dispersed along the East Coast. I have a niece who is a toddler now, and is my favorite person in the world! I am currently a technical writer, but beginning an MS in Unmanned Systems with a focus in Spaceflight Operations. I eventually hope to work in spacecraft control rooms. I love space exploration and would love to live in a Mars colony one day (definitely open for negotiation). I already have an MA in Theology from CUA. I specialized in political theology and just war theory. I love watching and playing sports, especially soccer. I love movies and have a collection of more than 200. I enjoy showing people movies they haven't seen before.

Passionate about life, my faith has lead me to where I am today. I look forward to making a difference in this world. I owe everything to my family which has always supported me and is my source of inspiration. I enjoy the beach, traveling, nature, archeology, politics, and hoping to start flying lessons this year!
