I have found myself in the "golden years" as a great surprise. It kind of sneaked up on me, when I was not paying attention. Mercifully I am still blessed with good health, vitality and curiosity for life and the world and I try to live my life interestingly, according to my means. I consider myself financially independent. Having been a single mom for many years, I have always been thrifty in a fun way. Have three children, all accomplished and independent adults. Also have five great grand kids, on their way to be accomplished. I have worked as a nurse in many areas of medical care and loved most of it. Basically I have a great life with many interests and accomplishments and consider myself happy. Also I am very very grateful for the many, many surprising blessings in my life.

Devoted my time to raising my three children after my husband passed away. Two are now married, one engaged, and I have six grandchildren who are a bright spot in my life. We are a close family and enjoy getting together when we can. I'm recently retired and looking for companionship. I've done some traveling and look forward to traveling more now that I am retired. I also enjoy dancing and some outdoor activities. I feel that I'm an active person, not a couch potato, but I do take the time to enjoy a beautiful sunset. I'm definitely a people person, loyal friend, and trustworthy. I enjoy life and meeting new friends. I have a sense of humor, and can definitely laugh at myself! I very much enjoy meeting people and learning about others.

I retired from the auto industry and moved to country a few years ago, I love living in the country and can't see myself living anywhere else. I now drive a truck part time to keep myself busy, When was younger a I wasted a lot time in the bars. I now live my life a lot slower and peacefully, I still like getting out and doing things like getting involved in church and local activities. I like fixing up on old cars and going to cruise nights, working around the house, playing the guitar, and walking my dogs. I am always open to new ideas, seeing new places and doing new things. It would be nice to have somebody to share all this with.

I am educated, employed, caring and a romantic gentleman with mature and old school manners. I enjoy outdoor activities, gardening, walks, cooking, farmers markets, art festivals and music festivals. Love to stay at B & B rather than a hotel as I feel they are more comfortable and romantic. I have two grown daughter ages 27and 30 They both have college degrees. I am in search of a woman who shares my faith and the love of Gods gifts in our every day living. The small things in life are more precious.

Hello out there. . . Where to begin? I am a native Ohioan but a long-time Chicago resident. I now live just outside the city. I am extremely fond of good music (particularly classical and authentic jazz), good literature, good friends. Chicago is great fun but it's good to "escape to Wisconsin," as the slogan goes. Rural places are beautiful, especially when you're in a city most days. I'm pretty low-tech; prefer the real to the virtual. Would like to live a fairly simple life--have a vegetable garden, a book-lined living room and a dog or two. Generally like old things--older architecture, old books, old towns. But these things, as well as the city, are infinitely better when shared.

I was raised in the suburbs and have just moved back to the area after 40 years away. Family is very important to me and raising two kids to be fabulous adults is my proudest accomplishment. I enjoy a variety of activities, right now walking down to the lake is a favorite, but sometimes I just need to sit, read and be quiet.

What kinds of things do I like to do? Well, I love the outdoors, whether it be for gardening, walking or just sitting around outside reading. I also like to fish every once in a while. I enjoy movies, mostly foreign or indie type. I belong to the After Hours Film Society. Every 2 weeks the society offers some kind of classic movie at a restored theater in Downers Grove. I always look forward to eating out and attending any kind of live entertainment.

I guess the best way to introduce myself is by listing things about me: Proud father of two lovely adult daughters; successful career in financial services spanning 40 years; enthusiastic dog owner and all around animal lover; deeply spiritual; worldwide traveler, currently trying to turn it into a business; wide circle of long time friends; multitude of eclectic hobbies and interests; restlessly inquisitive and hopelessly romantic.

I would like to meet someone that can share my faith. After that...I would like to find someone who is loving, caring & honest. I have been divorced for 10 years. I was in a relationship for about 5 years with someone not of my faith. I think it is easier to share all the great things life has to offer, with someone that has similar beliefs. Other than being Catholic, I enjoy just about everything that normal people enjoy. I like to travel, take a cruise or drive up to Wisconsin. Go to a fancy restaurant, or Portillo's is good. I am a jeans & t-shirt kind of girl. I can clean up nicely when required. I also love animals. I have always had a dog. My dog (golden retriever) had to be put down about 2 years ago. I would probably look to rescue a dog, sometime in the future. The most influential things that happened in my life were the death of my brother & later years my father. The most hurtful thing was my divorce. Infidelity can be an awful thing in marriage. But we pick ourselves up & see what's next in our lives! In closing, I would like to meet someone with similar beliefs to enjoy life's journey.
