I am a mom and a teacher. I love my kids and my job! I feel very fortunate to have a job that I love, especially given the current economy. I live close to my parents and 2 of my 3 sisters and their families - we are very close and truly enjoy spending time together I have been divorced for over 12 years. I have come to realize how important my faith is to me. I was excited to see this Website; as I've had a difficult time meeting people not only my age, but also singles of the Catholic faith. There is no singles/divorced group at my parish anymore. I have noticed something I find interesting about the temperament test - my results can vary greatly each time I take it. I think we are all a combination of the "temperament" types. I am raising my two daughters full-time, and am trying to set a good example for them. I am finding it to be a challenge, but one that will certainly be worth the effort. My oldest daughter graduated from college and is now in her third year of teaching. I am enjoying the friendship we now have since she has truly become an adult. I am also enjoying spending time with my youngest daughter as she progresses through the challenges of the high school years. She is a senior, and will be off to college next year.

Family and friends are my most valued treasures in life. I've been blessed with three wonderful adult children and an awesome grandson who fills me with joy. I also have a faithful circle of lifelong friends, we've been together through thick and thin. I've been widowed for over 25 years and since I recently retired would enjoy sharing leisure time with a caring companion. As a lifelong Catholic my faith is and always has been very important to me. I enjoy simple pleasures such as cooking, reading, gardening, and the companionship of my two rescue dogs. I also like the theater, opera, and visits to museums and I'm a Chicago White Sox fan!

I am not your typical Catholic. I am a peace maker, mediator, minimalist, feminist, environmentalist, and advocate for social justice, and the LGBTQ community. I think that women should be allowed to be priests, and that married couples should be allowed to use birth control if it is right for their family. I personally think that kindness and compassion will get you farther in life than arguing. I often see the glass as half full, speak in a positive manner, and proudly support the dreams of my friends and family. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and learning about and experiencing different cultures. I am a fan of all forms of art (writing, music, movies, artwork, dance, etc.). I also enjoy being out in Gods beautiful creation, watching the sun rise and set, looking at the stars, swimming in the ocean, or enjoying a thunderstorm.

Lord, I believe: I wish to believe in Thee. Lord, let my faith be full and unreserved, and let it penetrate my thought, my way of judging Divine things and human things. Lord, let my faith be joyful and give peace and gladness to my spirit, and dispose it for prayer with God and conversation with men, so that the inner bliss of its fortunate possession may shine forth in sacred and secular conversation. Lord, let my faith be humble and not presume to be based on the experience of my thought and of my feeling; but let it surrender to the testimony of the Holy Spirit, and not have any better guarantee than in docility to Tradition and to the authority of the magisterium of the Holy Church. Amen.

First of all, I find this an interesting exercise, trying to capture in words a sense of who you are. certainly not an easy thing to do! Personally, I find that I am called to be the servant both in a larger scale working with ministry programs and in the smaller scale interacting with people in my everyday life. It is in my nature to try to help people. I also tend to be optimistic, mixed with a healthy dose of realism! I am likely to acknowledge the challenges of a situation but at the same time facing them with a strong belief that we will get through it. To quote one of my friends, "this too shall pass". Other personality traits: definitely quirky sense of humor, can be introspective at times, good mix of hard-working and committed to tasks with a healthy dose of willingness to escape for sanity breaks. The most important things in my life are God, my family, and my friends. One of the experiences that influenced my life the greatest was losing my father at a young age. As a result of this, I think I gained a perspective on what was important in life and it forged strong family bonds among us. I think as a result of this, relationships have a strong meaning to me. I find that I tend to maintain smaller groups of close friends, but the relationships are strong. Working with the ministry programs, I have also developed friendship's with several people that have been very inflential in my life. I have found that the people volunteering for these services have a true heart for social justice and we have had many coversations that have opened my eyes in many ways and I have particularly enjoyed these experiences. So those were the deeper things about me but now for some of the lighter things. In my leisure time, I enjoy many different things. I am particularly fond of movies and books. In general my tastes are fairly ecclectic. I range from biographies to thrillers to romance.I enjoy most forms of nature including taking walks, gardening, and watching different animals (Although as a gardener, there is a kind of love/hate relationship with rabbits and squirrels). I aslo enojy traveling, music, plays. On the flipside, I also love having days with down time giving me a chance to recharge.

I'm a native of Illinois outside of Chicago. I come from a family of 6 (2 brothers and a sister). I have a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in History from Northern Illinois University. I am currently discerning the right time to complete a teacher certification, and I hope to teach in a secondary school environment. I love to converse about anything. I love to read, paint portraits, sketch, write, watch movies, study religion, philosophy, ethics, and politics. I am a dog lover--but cats are God's creatures too. My basic worldview is God created us for communion and relationship with Him and each other. Marriage is a gift to receive; not grasp at. Everyone is a soul that will live forever--even after this brief period on earth. Let's help each other get to where we all belong.

Hello. Thank you for looking at my profile. I believe, I am looking for someone who thinks I am right for them and you for me. Is that you? Someone who wants to get out and have fun and enjoy each day. To try new restaurants, take a long weekend getting away to Door County, to go and watch sporting events and maybe get in a round of golf. Let's laugh and have some fun!!

Hi, I am an accomplished, well-traveled, and child-loving Reading Specialist. I have just earned my second Master's degree. I like to eat healthy and keep fit. I enjoy American and foreign cultures, "the belles letres," visiting art museums, swing dancing, and listening to music. I love to laugh. Occasionally, I relax with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. There is nothing like a good book. I would see Rogue One again. Fresh air, a big open sky, and overlapping, endless waves rejuvenate my spirit! I hope that a highly-educated professional, around my age or slightly older, having similar values and interests, will find me here.
